much better than I expected
I stressed and toiled about what I would use to set up the above ground pool that I had purchased. After reading so many articles and watching so many videos on the various ways that I could set up a base for this 12 foot pool, I came across these Exercise Foam Mats from BalanceFrom. I do not have the option to dig down into the earth as so many of the videos and articles have suggested. Im working with a flat level backyard. My kids are out of school and basically hounding me about their boredom. They love to swim, I love to swim. A pool is the answer. I wasnt sure about how I would use these tiles, but after receiving them I knew that they would make an excellent underneath platform for my pool. I didnt have to do any digging! I laid these foam tiles out onto the ground, as is. My pool is round and so I set these tiles in a perfect square shape, extending appx. 4 feet around the edges of the pool. I set the pool up and filled it up. My pool has a pump that I was able to set on the side. I surrounded the tiles with some pea gravel. Voila! We have a nice swimming pool set up for which I dont even have to worry about ANYTHING poking up through the bottom of the pool! The base, made from these foam tiles, feels great underfoot and gives cushion. This is the answer. I love how they interlock like puzzle pieces. I am so impressed with my decision to use these tiles that I havent decided if I will even bother to take the pool down for the winter season. I would like very much to catch them on sale so that I can use them to pad an entire room for my kids. Very happy with my decision to purchase.

Protection for floor
I initially bought these for cushion and protection under my inflatable hot tub. They worked great and I have had no problems with them. I am in the process of building a gym in a spare room and so far put some under my treadmill. Provides great cushion and floor protection. These are perfect for both of these scenarios. I have already ordered 6 packs of these. Would definitely recommend. As a matter of fact, I will be ordering more to complete the workout room.

Great set of mats for home gym
Started with 6 just to try and quickly found that these were the right product for me. Price was great too. I ordered another set of 6 within a week to give myself the space pictured. I'm a big guy, and that inch think padding has done wonders for reducing impact and making my workouts more enjoyable. If the times comes to expand further, I'll be picking up more of theseThat said I did find that the mats could slip just a bit on the vinyl plank floor in my basement. Not a large amount, just slight movement as I exercised. This was easily corrected with running rubberized duct tape along the seams underneath and attaching a cheap rug grip pad to the bottom side.

Workout flooring - Great
We purchased the 1" excercise puzzle mat for use with our Tonal exercise machine. We needed 6'x6' so bought 2 - packages that gave us the 6'x6' with 3 panels left over for other use. The mat is quite firm which provides a great base t exercise on. The texture is well designed to reduce slipping and sliding. We went with the 1" thickness to try and eliminate and popups from the puzzle pieces. The mat does not move around and the puzzle pieces stay in place. It provides protection for our hardwood floors and a nice cushion for all the exercises we perform with our Tonal machine. This product fully met our needs. The puzzle pieces are truly a puzzle to put together but in the end it looked great.

Easy to assemble but hard to take apart!
I know the title may seem like it's not good but I needed these to cover the floor for small children. Just a small space but I had tried other mats in the past that were nice but the kids pulled them up by the corners too easily so it was a hassle to keep everything in place. I got some thick ones from this brand and got 2 packs. It was super easy to put them and their edge pieces together but the kids can't pull them up as they are much heavier and thicker which is great!!! I'm not sure how they would do for actual exercise but for my needs they are fantastic :D

Not a puzzle person
I bought the 2” set to go under my treadmill hoping it’d drown out the noise of me pounding the treadmill. It didn’t but I think that’s due to the Pro Form treadmill conveyor belt and lack of “padding” or whatever itself. Gonna get another set to go under our weight bench. Trying to put the end pieces/match up sides/corners was a brain teaser for us.

Have held up through regular use for almost a year now.
After many months of almost daily workouts these show minimal wear. Dog's claws have gone through the surface in a small number of spots, but he's a big strong dog and sometimes gets excited when I work out. If you are doing lots of quick lateral or back and forth movements, you will pull the squares apart. And they do shift on the wood floor, especially when I am on the rowing machine. But for yoga, weight lifting, stretching - they have been very nice. Firm cushioning reduces sound and fatigue, if you accidentally drop a weight these will more than likely save your floor from harm.

Good for money
These are fine and work great for our boxing and bjj workouts. We have had them set up outside (Southern US, very humid) and we stay on top of cleaning them/drying them- but they have held up fine so far [~2 months] ****You will need to pair these mats with some gorilla tape or something of the sort on the joints in order for them not to come apart during more intense movement

Returning them due to these reasons
DISLIKED:1) tiles were different thicknesses from each other (some where .75" all around and others were .5" on one side and .75" on other side - see my pics)2) the pattern on the tiles doesn't follow a consistent pattern such that the patterns always line up when connecting tiles. In fact, they are cut randomly so the pattern never lines up. And some tiles have the pattern lines fairly parallel with the tile sides where other tiles have the pattern lines not parallel at all to the tile sides. Only some people will even care about this though. See one of my pics for example.3) very slippery on both sides, unlike an old cheaper thinner version I got from Canadian Tire years ago.LIKED:1) fit together very well (aside from thicknesses being off)2) thicker than standard and good cushioning but harder cushioning compared to my older .5" ones. They are about equally comfortable considering thickness vs cushioning hardness.I'm returning them.

Cheap, Hard, Slippery
Overall the product was a very cheap material. Wouldn't recommend it at all. Few reasons that made me hate this product1) No anti-slip in either side, so slips around the floor and when your on top. Ended up putting antislip on bottom but I'm slipping on the top so pointless. It's so slippery, can't even do a pushup without my feet sliding around.2) Material feels incredibly hard, i'm hoping to break it in a bit more but tbh it's so hard, it's uncomfrtable on bare feet.3) Uneven thickness, ranges between .5-.75

Good quality
The tiles all fit together well, and seem to be made of high density foam. They covered the sq. footage I needed perfectly, with 3 tiles to spare, but then I did my homework and measured before ordering.I just laid them down today, so time will tell if they hold up well under the weights (bought them to protect my floor for weight training). I'm sure the heavier weights will leave some sort of indent over time, especially if stationary in the same spot. What I'm interested to see is just how much they will recover (if at all) when the weight is taken off. They have a peculiar smell when first unpacked (not too strong though), but I read in a review that it soon goes away.I sure hope there are no harmful chemicals! I think I read somewhere in the description that there weren't.*** UPDATE*** Three days of use now and the smell is fading... or maybe I just got used to it. 😂. The 70lb dumbells sure made a dent when left in one spot overnight, but the tiles recovered when the weight was removed. It remains to be seen however how they'll handle longer periods of time.

Pattern is not square with the edges of the tiles
The color is ok. It's truly 1 inch thick. It's very effective to absorb vibration when doing exercice on it. Yoga, stretching, push-ups...UNALIGNED PATTERN : As some other reviewers have already complained about there is a clear lack of control quality here. On the six tiles I received, three of them have the pattern totally offset. These three tiles were not cut at a square angle regarding to the pattern (as you see on the picture). And the unaligned pattern does not match with the three other tiles. It does not affect the mechanical properties of the mat, but esthetically speaking it's very ugly. With such a high price tag for this product, this is totally unacceptable.TREADMILL or BIKE : I would not recommend to use this mat under a treadmill or a bike because the foam is not hard enough. I've used one in the past under my treadmill and the weight of the machine plus my weight plus the added pressure when jogging on the treadmill is way more than what this type of foam mat can handle. The foam mat was totally crushed under the weight of the treadmill. After a while the crushed foam was only a few millimeters under the two wheels and the two "legs" of the treadmill.
