Absolutely brilliant!
I don’t think I stopped smiling the entire time I read this book. It was fascinating to read about what life is like for the lucky few who get to live their lives surrounded by such rich and wonderful history. I truly loved it and I can’t wait to read more from this author! One question though, how do I get my own royal guard? Lol

Super Cute Story!
I thought this story was very cute and enjoyable. I saw myself a good bit in the main character, Maggie. As someone who is looking forward to one day going to London and seeing the royal guard in person, this story makes me very happy. It is very nice to see and to know that the royal guard are real people. Anyone who likes a good sweet ROM COM will enjoy this book immensely.

Fun premise, amateur writing
I wanted to like this. I love the Tower of London and all of the history surrounding it. I thought the premise was fun and I enjoy the author’s IG videos. I just don’t like this book. It’s as if she wrote it and then went back through the story with a thesaurus and added adjectives wherever possible…like, to a distracting degree. The excessive use of descriptors really killed it for me. The story was just meh.

Well-written, engaging and FUN!
I follow the author on her lovely Instagram and have been excited to read her book. I loved all the facts, secrets and ghost stories about the Tower of London that she dove into her story. And the story itself was quite good. I found myself in tears near the end. I only wish it was maybe one chapter longer, as I’d like to enjoy how it wraps up. I found myself also wishing to see more of the other guardsmen in the book, so I hope she considers writing more in the future!

British Rom Com
Not only I’m a sucker for rom coms I’m a sucker for British rom coms. And Megan Clawson’s debut rom com is indeed a very British rom com. I mean it set in the Tower of London it doesn’t get more British than that.Maggie is one of the rom com heroines that I found myself relating to the most. I mean im not British I don’t live in the Tower of London and my dad’s not a beefeater. But I am the daughter of a former Marine turned LEO and the scene Maggie went through with her under clothes I can relate to. Plus, Maggie’s sassy and a book and history nerd.Falling for the Royal guard will keep you laughing from page one. Maggie has a large extended family though not related by blood. And of course, this rom com deals with grief that I could relate to. As will most readers. Pick this one up you weren’t be disappointed.

Nice debut
Three and a half stars. Fun read with current British terminology. Freddie was very believeable. Some of it was a little too corny (which is why it isn't four stars).

Incredible Historic Romance Book
I’ve been wanting to read this book since Megan first shared she was writing a romance book set in The Tower of London. I’ve read this book 3 times now and it honestly is so incredible. I’m a huge history nerd so I love finding out new information about The tower of London through the book. The way the tower, the guardsmen and beefeaters are described in the book is incredibly detailed from this you can clearly tell Megan has a deep connection with the tower which she does as she lives in the Tower of London. I personally feel like this makes the book that extra bit special. It’s a perfect book for a little history lesson mixed in with a beautifully written and adorable romance book.Maggie the main character is the first main character I’ve come across in a romance book for a long time where they are seen as incredibly relatable. I felt myself getting so connected to the book as it was incredibly relatable on a lot of different levels. This book was everything I dreamed of and more!! It was a lovely comforting read so I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance book and to anyone who is a history geek too.

Really enjoyable
Really good romance story, except that it felt like there was a lot of rubbish filler and the ending was really really rushed, it was really unpolished and frankly a bit of a letdown. This story was really promising it just felt like the author should have spent more time on it, like it wasn't quite ready to put out yet, finished in less than a day though, it did kill a few hours. Good book.
