Draeger: Pioneering Leader in Asian Martial Traditions

A must to know book about one of the great pioneers of the Martial Arts.Thank you very much.

Even though it's moderately priced, there's nothing here of importance that you can't get via a thorough web search. The fine details that are provided are largely uninteresting and unenlightening. I appreciate the author's intent to try and make up for the lack of quality biographical material on Draeger, but this little pamphlet doesn't even come close to doing the man justice.

Just a clarification. One reviewer judged this title as a book. It isn't just a book. It is an anthology of articles from the Journal of Asian Martial Arts, published precisely because there is information and photographs here you will not find on the internet, such as the section written by Draeger, "“Letters on Miyamoto Musashi,” or Dr. Friman's piece on "“Donald F. Draeger’s Wisconsin Grave.” Other short chapters as: “Donn F. Draeger: A Lifelong Embodiment of the Samurai Code," by Robert W. Smith, M.A., and “Donn Draeger and the International Hoplology Society," by Hugh E. Davey. Some appreciate this little volume for the fine artwork on the cover. The reviewer was correct in that it is priced well. It is clearly stated that this is 42 pages. You can ignore my star rating. As with all else in the world, some like or dislike things according to their own background and judgement or misjudgment. If you look at this title for what it is, and not for what some may wish it to be, you may appreciate a little gem.

Excellent book. Highly recommend it if your are interested in Draeger

Four already published articles from magazines now in this little pamphlet present no really useful or new information. Most part of it is a memorial article after Draegers death which can be summerized with "I loved him and respected hin but I knew everything better."Spare the money!
