The media could not be loaded. I have outdoor furniture that is made from Pine. After years of being outside, it turned gray and so I wanted to refinish it to make it look pretty again. I did some research and using stain and polyverethane was going to be a lot of sanding and coating, sanding and coating and the smell is terrible and I knew I'd have to do it in my garage. So I found tung oil and bought this brand. It is so easy to use and I put four coats, and it goes on really easy. The furniture turned out beautiful. It made the wood darker the only thing is that it does have a very strong lemony smell and to some people it is too potent. They didn't like it in my family even my cat, but I didn't mind the smell. The smell does linger after a while but I'm sure it will go away eventually.I power washed the furniture, let it dry in the sun and then sanded it once. Each piece has 4 coats of oil.

If you follow the directions, the end result of applying to cedar is amazing! The finish is beautiful, and it seals/protects the wood.

Like the fact it's cut with citrus/pine so it soaks into the wood faster/deeper than 100% tung oil which is very thick. Mine was cut with Citrus, not Pine as in description. Pretty strong odor even with my shop windows and big door open with fan on high, so be aware. Gave me a headache after awhile while applying almost a gallon, but that's me, so wore a respirator and that helped a lot.Getting ~350sqft coverage/gallon on dry rough milled cedar, so no complaints there when it states 400sqft/gallon coverage. Dry rough Cedar is very thirsty. 2nd coat left no pooling of product after 40 minute soak time. I think 3-4 coats will do the trick when my cedar becomes saturated.Really brings out the beauty of cedar and protects in a safe non-chemical way for soil and vegetables that will be grown in the planter boxes I'm going to build after Tung Oil cures. Zinc is a plus for UV protection, so hope that means wood will not gray over time.4 stars being I don't know how long or how well this product protects wood from the elements yet.

After researching for a while on what I could use safely for the inside of my new raised bed to grow vegetables in, I chose this product because it's tung oil mixed with zinc. On top of the great product, it had a great smell of citrus/ orange and we really liked it. It was a breeze to work with.

I used this for a new set of Bee boxes that are cypress and I do not plan to paint. As with most oil type finishes a little goes a long way. Follow the instructions and apply with a foam brush and allow to soak in a little and wipe the excess off and/or spread to another area. Allow to dry thoroughly before applying the next coat. Several light coats are better than one heavy. Th is bottle was enough for 2 complete hives. BTW, I only put it on the outside of the hive, not the inside.

I used this to refurbish a 6 years old wood deck, and to prepare a new Douglas Fir deck.First of all, this works much better on already weathered wood, than on new wood. It soaks in faster in weathered wood. Newly plained wood does not absorb the oil or even water very well unless it's sanded.Nevertheless, for now I only oiled the underside and sides of the new wood prior to the deck assembly. I decided to let the top side weather for a year before applying the defense oil followed by a pure tung oil coat.Even though the oil was not absorbed very deeply into the new wood, it already let water pearl off after one coat. Within two hours after the first application, I was surprised by a thunderstorm and rain. Absolutely no problem! The water pearled off while the finish was still wet. Discoloration from rain exposure was negligible after everything was dry again. Several days later, it repeatedly rained again onto the first coat and the water still pearled off. Even it is not recommended to have it exposed to rain or direct sun light for a couple of days after application, rain does not seem to cause a problem.I deliberated for a while to go with composites for the new deck and am happy that I did not. Wood decks certainly require more maintenance, and finishing a deck with tung oil requires way more upfront work and time compared to using petroleum based products. (I have worked with both types of finishes over the last 20 years making furniture and building guitars.) I don't mind the extra effort working with tung oil as I love working with wood. The process itself and the outcomes are very satisfying. Plus, why would anyone work with the petroleum based products - unless it's absolutely necessary - after having read the safety data sheets of those products. Very toxic!

It’s ok, but not as good as described. It worked better on raw wood, that has not been finished any way. The outdoor wood furniture I have had to do 8 layers, even after that is not what I was expecting

Wanted this for a handrail on my deck. Originally had solid stain but it’s western exposure here in TN so wood was splitting and very dry. Sanded the old stain off and applied this and it looks beautiful. Very thirsty wood, one handrail drank a whole pint!
