Killer Species #2: Feeding Frenzy

So far, so good with the 4th through 8th graders
I purchased this for my "I hate to read!" 9-year old who has gotten totally hooked on the "I Survived" books. His teacher recommended this as a slightly more challenging series that might catch his attention. So far, he's still reading "I Survived" books but his 11 year old brother was enthralled with these books! He read the first one straight through then picked up this one without a break. He's only halfway through but he already asked me if we have the rest of the books in the series. Now if I could get him to STOP reading during Math class and get his little brother to do a little more reading...My 13 year old also read the first one of these books straight through on a day when he was not allowed any screen time. Apparently for him, it was better than nothing but once he got his electronic privileges back, he hasn't come back to it. The 9 and 10 year olds are interested based on the back cover but one wants to finish the "I survived" books first and the other is currently caught up in the Harry Potter series and doesn't want to start something else yet.

I agree it grabs you from the beginning.............. but the ending are always the same...........
I read the first booked and enjoyed it and said since I've read one I'll read the series. I just donated the books to my daughter's classroom teacher, so the other students can enjoy the book. This book is fast as long as you read the first book, you know all the characters in the story. Dr. Catalyst is back. And this time, he's out for revenge on Emmet and Calvin. It just seems that with both books, the kids save the day in this case an animal. Dr. Catalyst is injured from the 2 boys. It seems that Dr. Catalyst is out to save the environment but is creating more harm to the environment with his cross gene species. I think Dr. Catalyst is going to run out places in Florida to hide very soon. It's a enjoyable book for children and boys will enjoy it because the main characters are boys. Easy fun reading is an enjoyable book.

Great Read!
The author has a fantastic way with dialogue, you'll laugh out loud, yet the characters are so well created and written it's as if there's nothing else they could have said. Highly recommend, I read Books 1 and 2 with my ten year old and we both loved it. On to Book 3!

Great Series!
This is the series that turned my "hate to read" son into an avid reader. He read the first book twice and then when this book became available, he read it in two days. I read the first one to make sure it was decent and it was excellent. My son liked this one, too and is looking forward to #3!

Great Kids book
Started this series for my 14 yr. old grandson. There have been 3 books so far and he has read all three within 2 to 3 days and now is driving me nutswanting the next one as soon as it comes out. If your son or grandson is intrested in Sci-fi I highly recommend.
