fashion over funtion
had this backpack for a few months, but it only sat in the corner. took it to the gym THREE times, everything was fine. noticed the zipper wasn't working because there was a string in the teeth, so i removed the string. low and behold the loose string was the single thread holding the zipper on. looks really nice, until it fell apart.

Good quality, comfortable, but lightweight molle webbing
I was pleasantly surprised by this backpack. It was comfortable to carry around.I hike the mountains around Phoenix AZ even through the summer months when it's often over 110°f/43°c. Most hydration backpacks have one or both of the following problems: 1- don't hold enough water, 2- don't have big enough straps to carry more water comfortably.I had been settling on a 35L pack. But really, it was too large. I have gone through 6 Liter packs (too small), 12 liter packs (too small), 18 liter packs (big enough but the straps cut into my shoulders). I carry 6L (1.5 gal) of water with me. Two 3L hydration bladders. And some emergency medical supplies, some food. About 20lbs (just shy of 10 kilos) overall. The 35L pack was mostly empty.I found this pack and gave it a try.So, first, it held two 3L bladders. It only had one strap inside to hook a bladder to (in the middle). I sewed two more in just under each shoulder strap. The next day was my weekly hike. I found out that I got better water pressure if I left the hydration bladders loose in the backpack and not supported by the hanging straps. The pack held the weight of the water (about 13.6lbs) and everything else (about 6.5lbs) quite comfortably. Throughout the entire 12 mile hike covering some 3,000 foot plus of elevation changes. The pack was a lot lighter by the end when I only had about 2lbs of water left. But then, with other backpacks, that's when the small straps really start to bother me and I really start to notice that the small straps of other packs are biting into my shoulders. This one was comfortable the whole way through. It does have a pouch inside the main compartment for a hydration bladder. It's fine for a single hydration bladder, but two bladders won't fit inside. Fine for me, I'm not caring anything large, so that main compartment had only the two hydration bladders. The other pockets kept emergency supplies, food, sunscreen. I attached a molle phone case to the side pocket.Overall, I like the pack. I think it'll last for the light to medium use that I'll use it for. Everything seems of good quality, except for the molle webbing. It's very lightweight on my pack. I have 4 other backpacks with molle webbing, and they are all much stiffer webbing than the molle on this pack.

Most people wouldn't need anything more rugged
Overall, OUTSTANDING value!I’m mostly posting this review to clarify a listing error for model #Army Green-2-0076: This pack is 40L, not 35L as listed. I also had a hard time finding pics of someone carrying it, so here are a few for someone else’s benefit. I purchased this over the 35 liter #M6227-Army Green because the latter lacks the front organizer compartment. That’s a big deal if you need easy access to small gear, snacks, camera, etc. without having to sit down and open up your pack on the trail each and every time. Also, this model has much larger side compartments, about a liter each, (10” tall).Overall, quality is good. The harness is very comfortable and fully adjustable, as are the kidney straps. As others have already mentioned, this is a well designed MEDIUM DUTY pack. If you are a normal person who needs more capacity than a typical day pack offers for e.g. extra clothing, food, and light gear for frequent day hikes, this pack will probably last you many seasons. If you need something that can reliably carry 50lbs+ of life-critical gear into remote areas on a regular basis...well, hopefully you are not shopping the sub-$50 price range. Think of this as a glamping bag disguised as tactical gear. 90% of people wouldn’t need anything more rugged than this. This bag is a great way to decide if it's worth it to fork out $300+ for a heavy duty version of this size/configuration. I'm very pleased with it.

Surprisingly sturdy
I bought this to replace an older backpack that was falling apart. Tried this pack out on a 6 mile ruck with 50 pounds. It did very well. I've been using this pack for quite a while and it looks new minus a little fading from the sun beating down on it. Against my better judgement I pressed this pack into service for a 9 mile ruck with 100 pounds in the pack ( steel plates). As far as I can tell the pack held up just fine. The issue is not the pack itself, however the design vs the activity. If you're going to do heavy rucks then you're definitely going to want a pack with a nice frame. Either steel, aluminum or very sturdy polymer. Great pack though.
