Exclusive Pouring Tongs for Precious Metal Casting and Holding Crucibles

Warmth? Sheerness? Those pertain to an object one would wear. However this is a tool to remove crucibles from a forge...so i found out it is designed for the smaller crucibles, but that doesn't stop me from resizing it.

I like that the tongs are of a high quality. Some equipment can feel like it has a weak hinge, or the metal is flimsy. This has a very sturdy construction. I took off a star because they are too big for my 1kg crucible, but since I can forge the metal into a better fit I didn't see the reason to take off more. Had I been smarter I would have triple checked the diameter before purchasing, but they still seem way too big for a 1kg.

Broke after second or third use not very well for picking up 2000 degree crucibles made poorly bend way to easy can only use with small crucibles cause it dont open very far and if they get to hot they start bending overall not worth the money.

I love these, just make sure you understand they are only for a 1kg crucible only. SMALL

always feels like the crucible is about to slip out. still feels sturdier than my old setup.

Well made but not sure the value is there to support the price. 2 stars based on description lacking detail. I purchased them to use with a #1 - 1 Kg graphite crucible and it (the crucible) is too small—slips right through the rounded portion of the pliers. Wish I would have checked when they came in instead of 2 weeks later when I went to use them and after I through away the packaging—now I have some really expensive pliers that I can't use. Not sure how large of a crucible you need to use with these pliers and I'm not sure I would want to pick up something much larger or heavier than the 1 kg crucible anyways. You may want to keep looking.

Recycling soda pop cans ... should also get the next size up
