Made my first recipe
I made my first recipe from this cookbook and WOW was it ever good (and easy to prepapre). Egg Bake with Sweet Potato and Turkey sausage. I used butternut squash instead of sweet potato because the squash is zero points for me on weight watchers. The fennel adds a big POP to the flavor of the ground turkey, along with the other spices. This recipe did not call for garlic and it still is full of flavor. Easy to make, and I look forward to trying many more recipes from this cookbook.

Pretty good cookbook
After seeing this mentioned in a blogger's newsletter, I read through the reviews and decided to buy it. I have a hard time finding cookbooks to meet our family's needs (nut allergies, lactose intolerance, choose to mostly avoid gluten), so I was pleasantly surprised that this one largely covers those bases. I've been cooking from it for a couple of months now and will keep this in regular rotation, but it's not my go-to.First, the positives. I love the color photographs for a lot of recipes. I also like that the ingredients are generally easy to find. The recipes are loaded with vegetables, which I usually struggle to add enough of to my family's diet. There are frequently subs for nuts or dairy, which is also appreciated. Everything I've made has turned out well and been a hit. The cooking techniques used are not complicated, so this would be a good book for someone who isn't an experienced cook. The portion sizes are also generous enough that we usually have leftovers even though I'm feeding six people. On to the things I don't love. The big one is that these are not quick recipes; in fact, most of them are not things I can make on a weeknight if we have literally anything else going on. I also don't understand why this cookbook sort of omits dairy but doesn't fully commit to it; supposedly those of us looking for recipes without dairy don't want random cheese recipes thrown in, and I don't like to rely too heavily on dairy substitutes that often have garbage ingredients. My final gripe is that the opening pages for each chapter list the recipes in that chapter but don't include page numbers, so I have to page through the entire section to find a recipe.Overall, I like this book and will continue to use it, but it's one I turn to when I have a lot of time to make dinner or when I have access to dairy substitutes for the recipes that include dairy.

Best cook book ever!
Several years ago I was sick and had to follow a functional medicine style of eating. I cooked like the typical American for 40 years and had to change my ways. I tried many “healthy recipes” and they were dull, boring and blah. After about a year I found the real food dietitian website and it was a game changer. The recipes were healthy, quick, easy and made with mostly ingredients I had on hand.I normally don’t buy cookbooks because they involve things I’ve never heard of, lots of pans etc. I had to try this one because I have been so pleased with the website. It is a fabulous cookbook for the everyday cook that wants to eat healthy. Even though most of the recipes are gluten-free, dairy free and maybe just a tad bit of sweetener they taste fantastic! They even pass my grandchildren’s taste test. These are the only recipes I have used for the last 2 1/2 years. Great job and a wonderful cookbook.

Awesome Cookbook
I've tried 3 recipes out of the book up to now and they have been fantastic. I love the "Tips" that you've given for some recipes and the alternatives for dairy free. Can't wait to try more!Roberta Fletcher

Great for batch cooking and healthy quick meals.
I heard the “Real Food Dieticians” on a podcast and their book sounded like something I would use frequently. I like to cook healthy, protein and veggie forward meals that are easy to make. The book totally fits the bill. Also, there are so many gluten free and dairy free options (or substitutions) which is so helpful.Pros: easy, tasty healthy recipes suitable for many types of "diets"Cons: not all recipes have pictures, many of the recipes can also be found for free on their blog, the book itself is kind of flimsy.
