Mousehunt (DVD)Gore Verbinski, the TV-commercials director responsible for the Budweise r frogs, directed this Adam Rifkin screenplay about two brot hers (Natha n Lane and Lee Evans) who inherit a string factory and a decaying countr y home after the death of their father (the late William Hickey, in his last role). After moving in, they learn that the house has historical ar chitectural importance and is valued in the millions. However, they are constantly tormented by a mouse within the walls. They engage in cartoon -like combat against the rodent, but it manages to outwit the brothers i n successive situations. I Saw Mousehunt In June 2006 On HBO Family and I Rewatched It On The CW 11 In September 2009 and Years Later I Rewatch It On DVD and Now I'm Rewatching Mousehunt On Amazon Prime and I Remember This Movie A Lot and I Love The Concept Of The Film and It's Tom & Jerry Meets Home Alone and Nathan Lane (Disney's The Lion KIng and Stuart Little Series, The Birdcage, Showtime's Penny Dreadfull: City Of Angels and Disney's Teacher's Pet) and Lee Evans (Paramount Pictures' The Ladies Man, 20th Century Fox's There's Something About Mary and Screen Gems' The Medallion) Did A Great All The Way Though As Ernie and Lars Smuntz and I Thought It Really Good But It Was Very Funny and I Really Enjoyed Mousehunt A Lot and I Give It Two Thumbs Way Up and Five Stars and Mousehunt Is My Favorite Comedies Of All Time and Nathan Lane Is My Favorite Actors Of All Time and So As Will Smith As Well!

"I don't think we're dealing with an ordinary mouse."
Brilliant. A savagely funny battle of wills between a poor little mouse and two dimwitted brothers down on their luck.It takes a great deal of ingenuity to turn a much hated rodent into a lovable little hero (of sorts). Rodents are never appreciated under the best of circumstances. In this context, you actually find yourself cheering for him. The attempts to kill the intruder are varied and many, from a psychotic cat that can't be killed (Catzilla) to an expert exterminator (played to perfection by Christopher Walken). Everything they try backfires in an ever escalating fashion. "This is how accidents happen." One brother observes. Boy, is he ever right! And even though they believe they can outsmart the mouse ("I like to use both sides of my brain."), bad luck and their own incompetence constantly gets in their way.Yes, the premise is limited to the title, this is a movie about hunting down and killing a mouse. But limited or succinct doesn't automatically mean it isn't a well made farce. This movie is filled with bizarre pantomime, marvelous sight gags, and great dialog. It's a delight. It never fails to cheer me up every time I watch it. It's definitely one of my favorite Nathan Lane movies.

The plot had a lot of original jokes and gags which created surprise and the unexpected. About hour into the movie, I felt I had seen enough as it was getting dark and depressing. So set it aside and watched later It when back to its charming unpredictable nature in the last 30 minutes that makes it a great movie. Having an adorable mouse helps a lot.

WILDLY FUNNY - PUTS THE LAUGHS BACK INTO SLAPSTICK
It is funny. This reminds you of classic slapstick from the 1930's. It is as funny as a move can be. Real acting with a snappy fast paced dialogue. Exaggerated personalities heighten the absurdity but in a fun way.Wonderfully well-made movie for the entire family.Enjoy!
