Civil PE Practice Exam: Construction Depth Version A

Contains errors and poorly worded questions. Your money is better spent elsewhere.
This practice exam contains quite a few errors. Enough to where I worked the math through on their solutions and found a lot of mistakes. Some affected the outcome of the problem, and some did not. Some questions are also worded ambiguously - for example: question 507 - "A pipe-laying crew consists of two laborers (at a cost of $50/hr), one excavator (at a cost of $120/hr), and one superintendent (at a cost of $55/hr)."Is the $50/hr laborer rate covering two laborers at $25 ea? Or does this question expect me to assume that a laborer is only $5/hr less expensive than a superintendent? Common sense says that's a very cheap superintendent or a very expensive laborer, so I interpreted it as $50/hr covered both laborers. Turned out they meant $50/hr EACH. So I got the question "wrong" when calculating crew cost. It is small details like this that set apart the quality NCEES from PE Prepared. NCEES will not make you guess at ambiguous statements like that. That being said, there are worse resources out there. These questions were close in caliber of difficulty to the NCEES practice test. But I definitely would not recommend this - you can find better stuff online for free.

PE exam had questions almost exactly like the ones in this practice exam.
This book helped me pass the PE. It had questions in it almost exactly like a couple on the exam. Would HIGHLY recommend.

A good set of practice problems that are close to the same difficulty/length as the problems on the NCEES exam. Very helpful for studying.

Good representation of what was on the exam
Good representation of what was on the exam. Not overly difficult like some practice tests can be. Two questions on the test were very similar to ones in this book.

Amateur book
40 questions is not enough. Some questions are vague and not professionally written. Not happy with it
