It's a ruler!
The rulers are solid with slight give and have points on the end. Since I got them for drawing comics, it's exactly what I was looking for. Also, it's very nice to have a backup, and it's become unreasonably hard to find a good normal ruler.

Not marked correctly for USA measurements!
I've been using these and as long as I use the intervals of inches and the 1/2" marks I made they're fine, but things seemed to be off when I measured for 1/4" or 1/8". Today I realized there are 9 marks for 1/8" intervals!!!!! Into the recycling bin they go!!!! Next time I'll spend a little more for rulers made in AMERICA not China!
