Product worked perfectly...AFTER I added my original sister board too It. There are two boards in your PS4, if you have an older one like me. These two boards will not communicate if you use the one that comes with this new disk drive. Once you swap out the smaller boards you are good to go. Really quick fix that saved me a few hundred bucks, my PS4 is whisper quiet and I don’t have to stand It up to run disks, also that disk read error is gone. Only con I can think of is that the new disk drive has a little bit of glue on one of the screws which made It a little difficult to switch the sister board out. Don’t be Afraid to bend It a bit to get the ribbon connection tight.

The product description say that the drive is new but that can't be the case. The metal ground cover on it had corrosion on it, and it was also bent; that only happens when it has been taken out or tried to be put into a PS4 before. Not only that, there were scratch marks all over the drive like someone was trying to open it up. This was a disappointment, and is falsely advertised as "New" when clearly it shows many signs of use and wear. To compare, my old drive that was in my PS4 looked way better than the one I received. I do not recommend this product at all.

The part I got was early used before, slight bend and break in the plastic in the corner. However, it worked. WARNING you can’t simply swap out the blue ray disk drive from your old PS4 with this one, you need to keep the same mother board from your old optical drive and place it on to the new one. Very tedious process.

Don't waste your money

Dispute advertising a new product for sale, this item has obviously been used. The metal shroud is bent from removal from prior system and the disk readers were caked with dust.

After installing this I got nowhere. Installed the drive and still had driver issues and not reading disc will be returning
