Great upgrade!
Great upgrade from the stock shift linkage. Shifting into 4WD is smooth with very good tactile feedback that you're definitely engaged in each mode. The old linkage I removed had semi-seized bushings/joints that was making it a fight 1 out of 4 times I was trying to shift into 4WD and back.Install was straightforward. Mine didn't have instructions in the box but was able to e-mail them for a copy. You can follow the install instructions from the Novak cable and it's basically the same, this one does NOT have rubber bushings for the bracket on the tub and it's not supposed to. There's also good YouTube videos (BleepinJeep has a very clear install) that show how everything goes together. You don't "have" to drop your skid plate to do this install but it makes it much easier. You can also detach your driveshaft to give yourself more space if you want. I dropped the plate but left the driveshaft in.As far as adjustments go, I left the nuts in the middle of each attachment point and haven't had to adjust it. I'm still at stock height but I can tell this is going to work great no matter what I may lift it to since it's a cable and not a geometric linkage/joints.

WELL MADE
Its a bit of a project to install for someone like me with only mediocre backyard mechanic skills. Make sure to support the transmission with a jack because you really need to remove the belly pan to get at the area were the cable shifter goes. As I write this I haven't actually driven the jeep yet as I have other projects going on under the hood. It seems to shift exactly as it should and way better than it did with the old linkage. I found that my shift lever was also very stiff to move after the linkage was removed. I was able to get that apart and clean up all the rust etc and it worked fine. There are some good youtube videos to watch for some good tips. Most of the cable shifters are the basic same design and you don't necessarily need to watch a Savvy video.

'04 TJ - Top notch upgrade
After finally purchasing and installing, I wish I had pulled the trigger much sooner. It's high quality and does it's job perfectly. Installation was easy and took roughly an hour, including pulling the drive shaft loose and removing the transmission skid plate. I was having a lot of trouble shifting my t-case. I was afraid to go offroad in my Jeep because I hit a dip at moderate speed one time and it shifted itself into neutral, and got stuck that way. I didn't have my tools with me to pull it apart and hand shift it on the case so I ended up calling a tow truck. Now shifting is incredibly easy, a night and day improvement over the stock pile of crap linkage! I highly recommend this product.

Easy enough to install, smooth results.
While it did not come with instructions, you can find them online and plenty of YouTube videos to learn from. The Jeep we bought had been lifted which stock linkage is not designed to handle and broke first time we tried it. This cable shifter is the smooth fix. I am no pro and got it in with the biggest frustration being getting the old parts off. The trick in shifting is to feel the click as I have not had time to find the adjustment needed to correct the length of the shifter run space versus the actual shift point which initially created a scary grinding WTF moment second time out after install. You can do it. Make sure you support your transmission while removing parts.

Great Product - Tough Install
I bought this for my 05 Jeep TJ after the factory linkage was so sloppy and worn out I could not get the transfer case into 4x4. I was very impressed with the construction and hardware included in the kit. I did the install in one day by myself. The instructions could use some help! I am a very mechanically inclined person and this took me almost all day. If I had some help it would have gone faster and easier, but you do what you have to. Once installed the linkage runs smooth and shifts accurately into all gears. I am impressed and pleased with the product.

Fantastic shifter cable
Ordered for a 2004 jeep TJ with a transfer case drop and it worked perfectly. Took around 4 hours to install without dropping the skid plate and took little adjusting to install. Plenty of YouTube videos demonstrating installation and adjustment as well. All said and done the Jeep now shifts solidly through all 4wd options and I would definitely buy another one for my other Jeep.

Finally get around to attempting the install and the paint is flaking off!!!
I bought this on Dec 3, 2023, I dislocated my ankle and broke my fibula last winter. So I was not physically able to install this. I am finally up and on my feet, and I open the box to install and I see paint chips all over the place. Its not shipping damage, its a bad paint job. I will have to repaint it, and I might as well do the other bracket while I am at it. Not the best quality in finishing, hoping it lives up to my expectations. I will update after the paint dries and I have the time to install this.Update.Painted the bracket that mounts to the body. Installation was easy once I got the old bracket off the transmission. That was a challenge since the top bolt is in a really hard spot to get a wrench in. I did the lower bolt then used a large pry bar to move the bracket out of the way by bending and twisting it. This will make more sense when you’re doing this. I put everything in to 2wd and adjusted the cable to this. I can now go in to 4Lo however it’s not as smooth as others stated. In my last pic you can see how the angle is way off causing the cable to go at an angle. I emailed [email protected]. No one replied. I put a large crescent wrench on the bracket and tried to change the angle. It helped slightly enough where I’m okay with it. Sad Savvy doesn’t offer support for customers.Overall it’s an ok solution. The adjusting can be daunting but just set it to 2wd and adjust the ends to where things line up. It’s a good starting point. Took one star away for poor paint quality, took one star away for poor / nonexistent customer supper.
