I needed this book
As a clinical informatician there is a lot it seems you are expected to be expert on. This book answers all the questions that you may be anxious to ask (as you think you SHOULD know it already). Common sense, easy to understand, just enough info. A gift from digital health heaven.

Good general overview- wished contained more detail
This is a brief good overview of the Digital Healthcare in NHS.I expected more details on history of evolution of digital services in NHS to get perspective. Also visual aids like infographics, to make sense of all the acronyms and structures could have been helpful.

A great overview of NHS Informatics
This book gives a high level overview of the current IT structures and policies in the NHS without getting engrossed in terminology or three letter acronyms. Even with 25 years of experience in the field, this book was a great ‘filler’ for the areas I rarely come in contact with. I I throughly recommend it for anyone involved with, or wanting to get involved in health informatics.

Excellent book
I have been working in digital health technology for 5 years and 16 in the NHS before that. This book is a great overview of all the key components and well structured and written. Good for anyone trying to understand both the complexities of the NHS, wanting to understand where their offering fits and the emerging landscape. I have tried to explain many components covered healer in many different conversations to people but Gary has pulled it all together in one place.

What a great book
I’m really enjoying this book. I think this would help anyone in the NHS that wants to understand about where it’s going AND it’s good for those that want to know how the NHS currently works and how digital is changing it. Brilliant book

THE must have guide book to Digital health
A fantastic guidebook to the digital elements of the NHS. I've added it to the suggested reading list that I share with the NHS grads that I mentor. Thanks for updating it Gary, shame a white paper came out so soon after publication!

Fantastic! A must read for NHS IT professionals
Despite working in NHS IT for just over 20 years, I’ve still learned a thing or two from reading this book. It’s an invaluable read for new starters and aspiring healthcare IT professionals.

Great summary of U.K. digital health industry
Guy’s and St Thomas’s hospital has the largest IT department in the NHS and Gary is its CIO. This book gives a comprehensive but concise listing of the digital health sector in the U.K., including the NHS’s many and expanding needs. I do not agree with everything Gary says - he believe the National Program for IT was ahead of its time rather than from a bygone era - but I learned a lot from reading this book. We ask all new recruits at our company to read this book.
