I absolutely love these dishes! They’re just the right weight, not too heavy but sturdy. Size is perfect. The color is beautiful, neutral enough to match anything, but not plain. The subtle gold rim gives a nice touch. So far they are holding up well to daily use with no scratches or chips.

Some of the bowls and 2 of the dinner plates have some imperfections under the glaze.

Gray embossed pottery style dinnerware with a lace-style pattern around the edge. Deep soup bowls, dinner place and salad plate. No mugs. The soup bowls are a bit small, on the order of rice bowls but I actually do not like gigantic soup bowls.No mugs in this set, which I prefer; I use either glasses on the table or my favorite coffee mug collection so no need.The gray glaze is about an "18% gray" (mid gray) with a dark brownish gray edge.Very casual

3 different pieces make up this 12-piece set. 2 plate sizes and a rather large serving bowl. The gray color is somber rather than festive, but the pattern makes it elegant without being flashy. These bowls and plates are crafted very well and can be used every day or at get-togethers or small parties.The bowl is the perfect size for a bowl of cereal or soup. The dinner plate is large enough for a regular meal and the smaller plate can be used for desserts or salad.Overall, this is a great set to have.

These were such a disappointment! They looked so pretty on line! The finish was very thin and scratched easily. Many flaws in the finish. Felt and looked very cheap in person.

Oh man, this dinnerware looks better than I expected! They hold up well to use and washing and are pretty sturdy with a little heft to them. Definitely some of the better quality dinnerware I've had. The gray doesn't clash with our current decor and the set comes with all the standard pieces including dinner plates, side/salad plates, bowls and coffee cups. The glazing beautifully settles in the nooks and crannies of the detail that rings the edges of the plates and bowls, emphasizing the texture in a sort of "sunk relief" to use an art term. They're gorgeous though, but not too fancy for daily use. We're very happy with them and although they are on the pricier side for dinnerware, I honestly think we got what we paid for and more and the quality shows.

Additionally, the painted rim on some of the pieces seems a bit faded and uneven in spots, so I’m worried that over time the paint will start chipping.Overall though, the Pfaltzgraff Emma 12 Piece Dinnerware Set is both elegant and practical, and a welcome addition to our dinner table.

These dishes have a really attractive design to them. I wasn't expecting a metallic lip around the top of the plates and bowls, but it does add a nice element to the bowls. They are very heavy duty and microwave and dishwasher safe. I like how the bottoms say which design they are, so you can easily purchase more if needed.A HUGE issue, though, was that one of the large plates had a very obvious factory defect where it didn't get glazed properly. It wasn't just a small blemish, but a very large issue. I would have to send these back if I hadn't received them as a Vine Voices member. I will include a photo. If you're ok with having to send a very heavy box back to get one piece replaced, then that's probably not a big deal, and I'm sure this isn't normal. Otherwise, the dishes are very well made and sturdy. I just can't believe quality control missed the huge issue with one of the dinner plates.
