UnStrangler Collar Extender - Adds 1/2 inch of comfort - Box of 6 Extenders

I came across this product while looking for some metal extenders because I'd ruined the ones I had. While those do a good job for my thick neck I found that they didn't last very long because I kept stretching them out and ruining the elasticity so I keep having to replace them. And while they don't cost more that about 2-3 bucks each it gets a little expensive as much as I have to wear suits in my line of work. So for $10 I said What the Hell and got these. I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, I got the product from the seller a day earlier than expected. The box came in the mail in a padded envelope and in good condition. Although if you see the actual product I don't think a crushed box would've damaged the actual extenders any. The extenders themselves are simply curved pieces of plastic with button holes in them. There are 6 of them with 6 different colored lose buttons that you use to attach to your collar. Gonna skip the how-to part because any idiot can figure out how to use them. I found that they gave me more than 1/2" breathing room. Either that or the 1/2" that the wire one was supposed to give me was bull*. Either way, I found them more compfortable than the wire ones. The only downside is that I had to make sure that I tied the proper knot on my tie to conceal it whenever I wear a shirt with wide collar points. A full Winsor did the trick. Not a big issue when I wear shirts with a tighter collar points. I prefer these shirts anyway as they look more professional and elegant (on me). I read some complaints about how they don't last when you wash them. I solved this by not washing them or putting them in the dryer. Come on, people! They're plastic. It's the first thing I take off once I loosen my tie. I bought them almost 8 months ago and use them regularly. I still have all 6. None of them are broken or deformed yet, although I did lose one of the buttons. Will definitely buy these again from this seller.

I have been using this product for 1 week and I think they are marketing it wrong.If you need ONLY ½ inch in room, then this is NOT the product for you.However, if you need ¾ to 1 inch, then this product is GREAT.If you notice, there are 2 slots on each side of the product. The buttons go to the far ends naturally.Therefore, if you need ½ inch, the end of the plastic piece protrudes too much.But, if you need a full inch, there is nothing on the market that is as good as this.As far as the tie knot not covering the device, just use a ½ Windsor and not the hipster-crappy-skinny knots the kids are using these days!!!

Wasn't as impressed as he hoped to be.

They work as designed but I found them to be too big. I only needed a fraction of an inch and these go quite a bit. The extenders are slotted, so I wrapped some clear tape around the outside edges making them smaller. Overall, they work as advertised.

They work just like they are supposed to. Minimally difficult to fasten, but learning curve is shallow.
