Nice Attache
I bought this to replace a Samsonite briefcase I bought about 23 years ago that looked very similar. This one is a little deeper than the one I had before and I think I like the extra room. They sure don't make things the way they used to. This one is well made but they used to be REALLY well made. I'm sure I'm not going to get 23 years out of this one. One thing I don't care for is the extra little compartments inside are almost useless in this one. Plenty of room for paperwork and such, but if you want a place to keep a few pens, clips, keys and things, there really isn't a good place for them. I feel like I need to get a little pencil box like the kids had in school too keep the small things in. Plenty of room for folders in the top compartment so you can get to them quickly and I do like the panel that lays across the bottom part (between top and bottom when you have it open) so you have some privacy when it's open. That's a nice touch, but when you want to look or get at anything in the bottom part, there isn't a latch to keep it up and it's a little difficult to keep it up while your searching for something. Yep...a latch would be good. The combination lock on this one is a little stiff and I thought it would get better after using it a few times but so far it hasn't. For the money it's probably a good deal and it looks nice. I pretty much bought it over others based on the Samsonite name, but next time I will look around a little bit more and maybe try a different brant.

Well that's a shame...
I bought one of these about 10 years ago in a silver/champagne color and I've been using it weekly ever since. It's been my go-to briefcase. Durable, lightweight, stylish, etc. Although I didn't buy it to be showy, people have complimented me on it for years and have consistently thought it cost a lot more than it actually did. I recently needed to buy another briefcase for a different office location and couldn't find a duplicate Samsonite in silver/champagne, so I bought this black one. Although the exterior if nice-looking and the black color is rather cool, Samsonite went and redesigned the interior-- absolutely ruining what was an awesome briefcase. This new version has two plastic and very Mickey Mouse pen/supply trays with the absolute cheapest frock felt plastic holders. They are located in the top file folder holder and not removable. There is also a removable center divider (which makes no sense because if anything should be removable, it should be the horrible pen holders). In fairness, the divider is of nice quality, although it stays in the down position and would be nice to be able to secure in the up position-- to hide the godawful plastic trays. One of the plastic trays makes sense (although the execution in design was very, very cheap) because it actually could hold several pens (assuming your pens are uniform in shape and the barrels are all thin). One of the other trays doesn't make any sense because it's too large to hold business cards and they'd fly all around inside (too much vertical space). There is another plastic space (not a tray, but just a space with a piece of elastic over it) that is unclear what could be held in it. The disappointment here is that these trays all take up space, they always remain visible, and they look so cheap. So awfully cheap. I think someone who never saw/owned the previous model wouldn't be as harsh as I am, but I know that the file folder holder on the previous model was so much nicer, durable, and good looking. It's like seeing the new Ferrari using plastic rather than leather for the dashboard.I'm not going to return the case because it is still a good value overall. I may take a razor blade to it though to cut out the file holder and all the plastic nonsense. Or I will glue the trays shut and ignore them. Leaving them as-is isn't an option because the cheap latches on them mean they may flop open from time to time.Uhg, Samsonite. You're killing me. You had the best briefcase on the market, and then went low-class with it. Oh well. The hunt will resume for the best briefcase.

Know what your needs are...
First get out a ruler and measure 6 inches. That's how deep the Focus is. If you are looking for a compact briefcase, this isn't it. However, if you need space, carry items that won't fit in 4" cases or always find yourself expanding your brief, then this will change you life! It's a weighty case and I wouldn't want to walk miles carrying it, but for short commutes or in places where you'll face rough conditions, this is what you want. Yes, the pen and 3.5" disk compartments are dated, very dated. But, otherwise, the textured sides look quite modern and the interior follows course. If you write from a car/truck or in odd places, the detachable hardback divider becomes your new best friend. Any thicker and this would look like a small suitcase. Any heavier and loaded with a laptop it would get burdensome. However, I find that the Focus walks up to the line without crossing it. It fits the needs of a professional who is hard on his or her gear, finds him or herself in rugged situations, or wants the extra protection a hard plastic Samsonite provides; all while keeping a stylish, if not modern, appearance.

Not Like the Old One, But Still OK
I agree with most of the points in the previous review entitled "Well, that's a shame", but I think 2 stars is just too low. Yes, the pen holder is worthless, since 90% of my pens are too fat to fit in the non-removable liner slots. I found that business cards do indeed fit well in the other plastic tray. The lock is harder to use, but I don't use it very often. I miss the old divider, which was more flexible and had a handy zippered pouch built-in which is no longer in this model. This new case certainly is not as nice or as flexible as the similar one I bought around 20 years ago (and only recently broke). But it is still a good briefcase for the money, larger than most, still reasonably sturdy, and still has the feature that it won't open if it's upside-down. If this one lasts half as long as my first one, I'll be happy.

Well made briefcase
Well made durable briefcase. Handle is slightly rubberized and swivels. Latches are heavy duty and well made and won’t open unless briefcase is laying right side up. The interior is roomy and has a removable writing “table top” divider. The only cons are the pen holder tray (we removed it) as it does not hold all sizes of pens and we also removed the removable writing table top divider as we found it inconvenient however this causes the two interior support tabs on either side of the briefcase to get hooked up and catch onto the filing partition of the lid every time you open the briefcase.

Great design. Highly functional
This is a very nice briefcase with a lot of space. It has a good design and looks quite sturdy. I particularly like the "double compartment". There is a separator. Great for keep personal or confidential items out of sight when you open your briefcase near other people.I like the design very much. I give this product a very high rating.

Sturdy but heavy case, but no way to secure a notebook computer.
Study case with single combination instead of 2. Always had good experience with Samsonite suitcases so I reckon the latches on this case would be similarly good and strong. Unfortunately there is no way to secure notebook computer and no padding, or padded area either. I could put the notebook in a neoprene sleeve but it would still be bouncing around even if I put it in the top compartment. Who designs attache cases without a spot to secure a notebook computer these days?! Finally, the case is on the heavy side even when empty. I suppose they could have made it out of aluminium but that would cost quite a bit more. Still it's a sturdy case so 3 stars, but I'll have to return it.

Great Briefcase
This the secondSamsonite briefcase I've had.... And this one is the bees knees... I just love it.I love the concealed hinges as the one before had them just on the inside of the lid and I closed it one time and it pinched my iPad and broke the glass .... So this one will be so much better for that sort of thing.... Being able to put stuff right next to the edge... I really like the locks to... Their concealed as well ... So they don't catch on things like clothing and what-not.... So all in all I think it's a great produce... And Amazon delivered on time as well.... So double good.

It is a nice small suitcase
Shown dimensions of the briefcase are not correct: it is 13.2 cm thick on the top, but on the bottom it is near 15 cm. The height 32.3 cm does not include legs and handle so it is much bigger, near 38 cm total height. It is more a small suitcase rather than attache so I could not use it but it is very good as a small suitcase

Nice looking and practical
Nice looking and practical. Has plenty of space inside and is mostly well organized.Small, hard case compartments inside are limited in what they can hold. Locking mechanism doesn't stop latches from opening. My kids can still play with latches if combo is locked which I hope ddoesn't lead to premature wear.
