[3-in-1] Inateck 3-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Micro SD Card Reader Combo and OTG Adapter Special for Laptops, Ultrabooks, Tablet PCs with USB Ports, Smartphones

Needed a USB extension for my other devices and decided on this after some research. I just got it and it works just as advertised and I definitely can't complain as it charges some of my devices somewhat faster. I will try the SD card reader once I get my camera. I would recommend this for anyone needing a quality USB powered hub.

This works with a USB 3.0 device with USB 3.0 OTG cable connected, but does not work through a USB 2.0 OTG cable. Not sure if this is a limitation of the OTG storage spec or what exactly. Does work fine with a PC. Tested with Samsung S5 and Moto G 1st Gen phones. Since the Moto G is USB 2.0 only, the storage aspect does not work except very intermittently. Using my OTG 3 cable on the S5, it works perfectly and can have all ports and the SD card reader in use. I suspect that using multiple ports requires a greater degree of power that does not transmit sufficiently through a USB 2 connector with respect to the OTG storage use.

really useless with most phones. Some tablets can use this. Works great with the latest notebooks of which I only have one.I was asked by the seller to revise this review. I tried this unit out on a Motorola Atrix Smartphone, LG Inspire Smartphone, Samsung S2, S3, and Note 4. All 5 phones are ONLY USB 2.0 compatible. None can operate using a USB 3.0 device. This fails to work on any of these phones. ZERO, NONE, NIX, NADA. I hope that clears up the confusion on the part of the seller that I read the product notes and only purchased this with the SOLE intention to use this with a USB 2.0 compatible smartphone. I did not try or attempt to try and use this on a smartphone like the Samsung S5 or Note 3 which has USB 3.0. So this cannot be used with USB 3.0 phones and was useless with all USB 2.0 phones that I could try it on.

This device arrived in great shape and promptly. I am using it both with a Surface Pro 3 for business travel using the USB connector, and with my HP Stream 7 using the OTG connector. I performs flawlessly and allows for easy expansion of storage and also the use of a keyboard and mouse with a USB mini-dongle.

Great! Worth noting that the little extension piece for usb 2.0 mini is removable. I was worried that removing it would affect the usability of the hub but it does not. simply snipped with a scissors and it looks like it was never there.EDIT: I purchased 14 of these for a computer lab. After 2 months of use, about half of them have developed problems. Basically they won't read usb thumb drives anymore. The problems are intermittent, but it is clearly a quality control issue. I wish I could return all of these. Instead I'm just going to have to replace them and toss the rest of them out. VERY disappointed, especially after all of the positive reviews.

Works ok with regular laptops as long as you don't overload it and reach its power limit.DO NOT BUY IF YOU PLAN TO USE WITH THE SURFACE PRO 3.I think the issue is with the surface pro 3 and not the USB reader. The power supplied to the reader isn't high enough and you would almost always regret using this. It might work ok for use with flash drives but would always give issues with HDD's and Mobile Phones since they draw more power.Instead of this version, look for one with an external power source.

Works very although it's really suited for a laptop or tablet as specified because the cable is very short. I am using it for an older PC along with the Inateck PCI-E to USB 3.0 2-port PCI Express Card and it works fine with a 3 ft. USB 3.0 extension cable I had on hand.

This is really versatile! There is a SD card with a microSD card slot adapter included so the reader can read both memory card sizes. You can add a mouse and use your tablet like a laptop, plug in multiple devices and transfer pictures easily from a camera. Absolutely a five star product!
