I’ve tried a lot of retinol products. I was a Paula’s Choice user for over a decade starting in my early 30’s. I am now 47 and have been using mostly Cereve products but have also tried lots of others along the way. This is, hands down, the BEST retinol product I have ever tried. Since I am an experienced skin care junkie I am typically not at all worried about a retinol being too harsh or having to start off sparingly. I’ve done medium grade level peels at home. So I slathered this ish on like I typically would. Two days later? Holy moly. Absolute peeling. A peel better than a 30% glycolic peel. No irritation though. No sensitivity or redness. Just good solid results. Read that again. Peeling yes. ZERO irritation, burning, sensitivity or redness. My skin looks ridiculously noticeably improved after just ONE application. Smaller pores, more plump, definitely brighter and superfine wrinkles are diminished. FWIW: After slathering this on before bed, I followed the next day with both an AM and a PM application of The Ordinary Marine serum (soley - no other products other than cleansing with Cereve Cream to Foam hydrating cleanser.) The Ordinary Marine serum is amazing too. The hydration is incredible. (If you like Elemis Marine products you will find value in the ordinary marine serum!)I’m still peeling at day 3 but in the easiest way possible and with proper prep my makeup turns out fine.Honestly this stuff is now HG status for me. I can’t wait to see what the cumulative results are. I’ve never left a review on Amazon before but I had to be a town crier about this!

I really love this retinol . Best 1% retinol on the market IMO . Good strength and moisturizers help with redness and irritation. just a nice pink glow .Not happy with the sudden price hike but still the most affordable and effective

I have been using Rx retinols on & off for decades.I use this product twice a week. But it never worked on my nose pores.I’ve been using this every few days on my entire face. I recommend using it 1 to 2 days on your entire per week depending on how your skin reacts. But, I use it daily only on my nose pores & it has greatly improved pore size.Use it sparingly.As far as the scent, well it’s “medicinal” smelling and it does go away after a few seconds.]I absolutely recommend using this product. It leaves my skin soft, tight & with minimal sloughing.

This product REALLY works for fine lines and wrinkles. Start with just once a week because it’s effective but strong and concentrated. It really renews your skin cells. Always use a good and hydrating moisturizer the next day. Don’t use it for two days in a row (at least in the first months). Consistency is key. After 6 months, first using it once a week, then twice a week and currently three times a week, the fine lines I have in my crows feet area and forehead are disappearing. It’s not gonna make them go away after a few weeks. Retinol takes time. I’m in my 40’s. You need to use consistently. I even write a little checkmark ✅ on my calendar so I don’t forget it. I’ve tried many good brands over the years (affordable ones and expensive ones) and this brand ( No 7 ) has the most effective balance, the best formulation and ingredients among all the brands I’ve tried before. I hope they never change it. 😊

I've never had super sensitive skin and I'm only using this on my cheeks, but omg after just one use, my skin about melted away. It's been 4 days after the first use and my skin is still red and sensitive. It wasn't as bad as a chemical peel but close. I used the amount instructed and I also bought the soother serum that was suggested. Even though it's definitely irritated and dried my cheeks, I can see the skin texture is much smoother... just with one use!! It's definitely worth the money if you're wanting to smooth the texture of your skin and minimize lines. But be ready because it's potent. Definitely don't recommend using in the summer and maybe not in cold weather like I did when skin is already dry.

I’ve only used one other retinol brand which is The Ordinary with squalane. I find this No7 way more effective than the other. The other didn’t do anything for me and the squalane just made my face oily. I also prefer this one because it’s in a tube instead of a dropper and I hear that droppers expose the product to air more often and tends to decrease efficacy with every use.So this product can be super drying but that’s what I wanted. I have used it in spot areas where I have milia and yay finally something that has gotten rid of it. A day or two of applying to an area of the skin it then gets really dry and can be peeled/rubbed off. I’ve also been using it on the wrinkles of my forehead and it seems like after the dry skin is off my forehead it has less defined wrinkles. I would definitely recommend but do be careful because it’s potent, for me at least.

I’ve been using it for the past two weeks. I only apply it once a week because it’s strong. I feel my face burn a little but I immediately moisturize after putting it on. I immediately noticed after one use my skin texture is smoother and less bumpy. It kinda dried out a pimple that I had almost overnight. It has a faint smell to it, the smell is a little unpleasant but I think it’s been working so far. I just use one pump and half when I apply it and don’t go out with it outside or else I’ll just put sunscreen.
