Works well as a case, poor as a stand.
I got this case as something that didn't use hard plastics and would protect my Nexus 7 out and about from scuffs, scrapes, and daily use. It does that very well. I don't use it much at an angle when I set it down anyway, so I wasn't terribly disappointed in the poor performance of the fold-back cover as a stand. But it doesn't do a very good job of holding angle without folding in on itself or popping out of the strap loop on the back. It would get a 5 if it would maintain rigidity when folded, and it would get a 2 if that feature were more important to me. In the end, it does what I need it to do and does it at a reasonable price. Does not blow me away, but it gets the job done.

Cannot Complain too Much for the Price
I paid 9.99 for this item. I may have also had free prime shipping as well (can't remember). In any event, this thing is worth 10 bucks and serves its purpose. The magnetic off/on works well. That said, this is not a comfortable case holding with one hand (and there is no strap) and it makes the nexus bigger than I would like. The end result of this is that I often take the nexus out of the case, which defeats the purpose of the case.Worth the price, but I would not pay much more.UPDATED April 10:After a month or so of using this, I got annoyed of how cumbersome it was to hold while trying to read while sitting on the couch, or in bed. Holding the naked nexus was much easier - it was difficult to hold the protected nexus with one hand in the case. I eventually ordered another gel/skin type case.

It's a case
After two or three years, the flap that the stand fits into is starting to not be "tight like a tiger", but juuuust starting. I don't use this but long flights and on travel, so it's not used daily, but it still looks in great shape and function is working still. At this rate, I suspect the tablet will be super-outdated by the time this case gives out completely.Feels and looks like low quality leather, or high quality pleather. Smells good for about 14 seconds.

Great case
It has a magnet that auto locks the device, and wakes it when it is opened. Pretty cool case. Leather doesn't feel like it's Kardashain material, but it feels nice. The black is more of a coal black, instead of a pure black. Access to all ports easy. Folds over and you can use it as a stand.

Already cracking
What ever material they used, it won't hold up. Haven't had it on the tablet 2 months and it's already cracking at the seams. Had the old case 3 years, don't think this will make it 6 months. Nexus covers are hard to find so not a lot of choices out there.

A Basic Case
If I were to have paid the retail price that Amazon has listed, I would have felt ripped off; however, at a price under $15, it gets the job done. I have had mine for a week or two and am already noticing some weakening in the underlying material (cardboard?), but it does adds a layer of protection and currently functions relatively well as a stand for now.

Great case for the money
The only reason it's not a five star rating is because there's only one size that you can fold it up to. And the tab in the back sometimes is tricky to get the front cover into. I would buy it again in a heartbeat though if something happened to it.

Functional
As you would expect, the leather like case will not be confused with a high quality leather. The controls are easy to access and it adds a nice protective cover to the Nexus 7. I also frequently watch webcasts and the stand is a good for that purpose.
