Very good tripod, not so good monopod
Very good tripod, not so good monopod. The monopod uses a turn locking, multi tier system to expand the stick. The first unit I received, the monopod would not lock properly and would collapse any time I allowed the weight of the camera to rest on it. The seller immediately sent me a new replacement unit and the monopod locking system on the new unit locks much better. The upper section does not lock quite right, but I was able to whip up a home remedy to solve that issue and it works well now.As for the tripod itself, it is great! The entire tripod is very sturdy, yet quite light. Using the hook on in the center of the tripod to hand my camera bag when using it made the entire thing almost impossible to knock over (aside from someone purposely trying to knock it over). I took many (~100) photos using the tripod with multiple different lenses, some with and others without lens vibration reduction, in different environments including, but not limited to indoors, outdoors, in light to medium wind, and on a slight slope. I didn't experience any blur at all!The tripod has a built in level that helps to ensure that the camera will be level at all times. Each of the 3 legs have a multi tier extending system that allows for each section to be locked in place at any length. This allows for perfect leveling when on uneven surfaces like grass, gravel, etc. The locks are flip locks and the legs do not collapse at all when locked in place. The entire unit is very high quality and well made. It is light enough to carry on a hike, but not so light that it feels cheap by any means.Overall, this is one of the best tripods I have ever used. I reduced 1 star because of the monopod issues I experienced, even after the replacement was sent. However, if you buy this and have any issues, I can tell you from my experience that the seller will take very good care of you. A++ for the seller customer service!

Great height and easy to use
I gave this tripod to my wife for her birthday. She wanted a taller tripod so she could get pictures of the moon without having to crouch down to look through the viewfinder of her camera. This worked out great! The only issue she had was with heavier telephoto lenses that are mounted to the plate. The pan handle won't tighten down enough to keep the platform from moving with the weight of the lens/camera. The tripod head would either hang straight down or completely level. There was no in-between. She said she will try using a second tripod to hold the camera and between the two be able to get a steady shot. The detachable monopod is handy but may collapse if accidentally twisted while positioning. Be sure to keep your camera strap around your neck while using the monopod section.Overall the tripod is a good sturdy item. It doesn't feel top heavy when the camera is mounted on the plate as some lighter weight tripods do. It is a bit heavier than cheaper tripod units, but since this is taller and has a detachable monopod, additional weight is to be expected. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the issues with stabilizing heavy lenses.

Very good Tripod... except
PROSI had this tripod and used it for over a year. The tripod is sturdy, easy to set up and easy to balance. It is lightweight enough to strap to the side of your hiking bag though not the smallest travel tripod of this length. And fro what it is worth, it is certainly value for money.CONSCurrently, I can only use this as a monopod as one of the plastic leg locks broke a few months ago while extending the legs. The lock clips are pretty sturdy, but the plastic on the inside is shamefully thin (Boo Camopro). I really loved this tripod and am trying all sorts of things to try getting it the leg to stay in and lock again. I have no photos as of writing this review, but I will update it to show you what I am talking about soon.If the seller can send me a leg lock replacement, that will make me a happy camper.

Nice tripod. Recommended!
Let me start by saying that I’m very much an amateur photographer. After mistakenly purchasing a (very) lightweight tripod that was only slightly better than holding the camera myself, I started looking for a better one. I looked in several stores and online. This unit had all the features of much more expensive tripods, and, knowing Amazon’s return policy, decided to give this inexpensive tripod a chance. I’m very impressed with the stability, ease of use, and even the very nice storage bag. I love that I can keep the base plate attached to the camera for quick attachment to the tripod. I’m sure someone more professional would find faults with this unit, but for an amateur such as myself, this performs exceptionally. Instructions included are a joke, written in poorly translated English, but it’s not too difficult to figure out even without them.

A well designed "starter" tripod.
I wasn't expecting much at this price point and I pretty much got what I expected. If you extend the center column for example which also houses the monopod, there is a fair amount of give, so for long exposures you may wish to use the camera's self timer. For family photos it should be just fine, as it is a well designed tripod for the price. It is a bit heavy to take on a hiking trip with you unless you're needing just the monopod. The specs show 3.63 pounds total weight with a camera and lens load at 8.8 pounds. I plan to keep the "anti-shake" active on my camera when using this tripod anyway except for long time exposures. I think the description should be modified to say" Professional Style Digital camera tripod" to be less misleading. I don't think you would ever want to use it for shooting video's with it either, unless it gets smoother with use. When using the monopod for example, be sure to tighten the leg extensions very tightly, and don't plan on using it for a hiking stick. The pan head is almost all plastic also.

Well built, until it broke. Almost cost me a camera.
I'll start out by saying this is a really well built tripod, except for one fatal flaw. That is the glue connection between the head and the telescoping tube, which failed completely on me. It appears they used the incorrect type of glue, some sort of clear epoxy, which is brittle and likely can not cope with repeated stresses or thermal expansion/contraction. I am not a professional and had used it lightly for 6 months when it failed. Luckily I had a firm grip on the head when it failed, or else I would have dropped my $1000~ DSLR and likely destroyed it. I did repair it with some JB Weld Plastic Bonder, which will effectively bond polyethylene plastics/low reactivity plastics (what this appears to be made from), and I will be careful with it in the future. If you buy one I would recommend exercising caution when raising or lowering the telescoping tube.
