I own several of these as I use them frequently. I don't like to constantly be looking for one so have one in my truck , work bag, and my go bag. Easy to work and plenty bright. The only downfall is the battery door mechanism as they can break. I have had good luck however with getting it replaced by warranty the one time it happened to me.

I use it on my early morning runs. It works great! Some have noted issues with the battery latch. I have not experienced that issue and have changed batteries at least twice. It fastens differently than previous models - so just be gentle until you get the hang of it. There are different levels of brightness - I keep mine on 100% bright for the run. Easy to adjust and stays put once adjusted. I have used Black Diamond in the past. My main reason for selecting Black Diamond is weight - or it being lighter than other brands. I also fly airplanes - the red light is handy for night flying - reading charts and such.

Great little light. Just right for my needs (I’m not a spelunker or anything too crazy). Has been pretty water-resistant to date. Optional rechargeable battery is a good and ecological investment.

I have had a Black Diamond headlamp for six years and love it. I needed another because the old one is now in a kit that I want always ready to go. I purchased the Black Diamond Storm 450 Headlamp based on prior experience with my old Black Diamond headlamp.I read the reviews about the clasp breaking on the first use and noted that the clasp is different than my old Black Diamond headlamp. I did not believe the reviews because of my prior experience - the clasp has never been problem. Well guess what? The clasp lasted about five minutes after opening the box! It snapped when closing the battery compartment!My equipment typically lasts forever because I treat it well, especially lighting products that must work when needed. Any Black Diamond product with this clasp should be a no-go. That said, I would deficiently try Black Diamond headlamps with other clasp designs.

Ive owned a cheap headlamp from this company for a few years and it has worked flawlessly. I use it almost every day. So i wanted to upgrade and after looking at the features, decided this is the one for me. So far, its been great. I love the simple side touch button to activate the super bright setting, works with gloves on too. I also like the battery life indicator. I am considering buying the rechargeable battery pack.

Excellent light

I love the amount of light this headlamp provides when needed. The only downside is it has a lot of options and can take some time to figure out. I didn't find the directions user friendly.

The latch clamp broke on the first try. I returned it and then received a full replacement, but the latch clamp cracked after opening it. That latch clamp has no resistance.The only way to avoid this is to squeeze the headlight with one hand and then lift the clamp with the another hand because the latch will force open and damage the clamp if I lift it unless I tighten the headlight. Same with closing. It is not practical.Fortunately I found a solution. Look at BD Storm 450 on the printable website, it has 3D latch clamp. I found a 3D printer service to get me. Next, I gently tap a metal pin with a screw and hammer. Also, be careful when removing it because one side of the pin is knurled.The 3d latch clamp is not perfect but it fixed it.However, one of the batteries leaked inside when I was mountaineering. Also, I think the headlight is defective because the main lens sometimes flickers and the PowerTap sometimes doesn't respond.

While I understand the concern people may have with the locking mechanism. It is tough on & off. Good and bad. There are ways to make it easier. Screwdriver or small Pry bar to wedge it open. And I just hold is together and put the clip down. And push the light down on a hard surface. My family each have one and a couple of Extra's in strategic places for emergency.

Die Ausleuchtung ist sehr gut und die LEDs sehr hell, für eine Stirnlampe.Sie ist leichter und die Leuchtmodi sind besser zu schalten als das / beim Vorgängermodell.Der Verschluss des Batteriefachs ist tatsächlich sehr schwergängig und man sollte vorsichtig beim Öffnen sein. Wie in anderen Rezessionen beschrieben, könnte ich mir vorstellen, dass der Verschlussbügel sonst tatsächlich abbricht. Das muss aber langfristig betrachtet werden.Im Moment hinterlässt die Lampe nur einen positiven Eindruck.
