I usually use the grass blade that came with my brush cutter so when I saw this design for cutting grass and brush I had wanted to try something better. This blade works incredibly well. I was cleaning up the area between the corn field and woods that had numerous buck thorn trees coming up and the usual variety of heavy weeds. This blade had no problem whatsoever going through everything in its path! The blade is heavier than my grass blade and is plenty sharp so once it was a a good rpm it worked perfectly. I even tackled a large group of burdock that keeps spreading every year. One of them had to be 3” at the base and all I needed to do was rev it up a bit and two swings later it came toppling down. Later I used it on area with some very tall thick field type grass and it didn’t even need that much of rpm to slice through. For the price this blade works amazingly well. It’s my new favorite blade for cutting through the weeds and brush (buckthorn included). I think the weight of this blade just adds a extra bit of force when cutting through. Even after all I put it through it showed little sign of wear. Great blade!!!!

I have used four different makes/brands of blades and these are keeping there edge the best of all the them. When going after blackberries and other brush, these blades are keeping a sharp edge longer then the others.

A lot of POS blades on Amazon. This one is high quality and cuts through most stuff.

Used on Stihl FS240, This blade is great when you have a large area of mostly soft-stemmed brush to clear. Does well with small saplings also (thumb-sized or smaller). 14" cutting swathe cut my time in half when compared to 10" blade I used last year. Don't worry about sharpening or removing paint from edge. The paint will remove itself as soon as you start using it, and it's appropriately sharp under paint. Steel seems tough, I have hit a few hard objects w/o damage, and seems to be holding edge well. Currently using to clear shooting lanes in cattails in the marsh for deer hunting, perfect for that application.

Heavy, and heavy duty!

I had to do a little modifying to my cutter shield as these were a little larger than what I had. I'm using a Husqvarna weed-eater brush cutter attachment. I have over 2 acres of Broom patches everywhere. These blades just rip through them like nothing. Hitting several rocks and dirt should have done some damage. Amazed how well the blades held up. I may give the a minor sharpen tuneup later. The trick is don't put a knifes edge on these. Keep their profile as is. Well worth the purchase.

Ich habe eine Steilhangwiese und Kühe zum Abweiden. Allerdings haben die Kühe letzte Woche das Gras auf dem unteren Teil nur niedergetreten und nicht abgefressen. Brombeeren usw. blieben stehen. Den oberen Teil der Wiese habe ich mit dem alten Freischneider Originalblatt angefangen. Es war für die Grashöhe, Büsche und Brombeeren einfach nicht das richtige.Meine Frau hat dieses Freischneiderblatt gefunden und bestellt. Es wurde am Samstag geliefert und gestern auf meiner Wiese sofort getestet. Auf der Wiese sind jede Menge wilder Brombeeren - auch als Dickicht. Außerdem Büsche mit sehr vielen fiesen Dornen. Der Freischneider hat alles mitgenommen. Auch das doch sehr hohe Gras (gut einen halben bis 1 m hoch) wurde sehr gut geschnitten. Das Gras und die Brombeerranken haben sich im Vergleich zum alten Blatt auch nicht sehr aufgewickelt.Dieses Blatt ist um 10cm im Durchmesser größer und dicker als die Originalklinge. Das habe ich gemerkt. Ich war um einiges schneller beim Mähen.Diese Woche werde ich die Brombeerhecken unten machen und ich gehe davon aus, daß ich das ganze in max. drei Abenden schaffen werde. Mit dem alten Blatt wäre es die ganze Woche gewesen.Da das Freischneideblatt relativ stumpf ist, empfehle ich es als erstes zu schärfen. Anschl. siehe obigen Bericht.Ich bin sehr zufrieden damit und kann den Freischneider nur weiterempfehlen. Er erhält von mir 5 wohlverdiente Sterne.Peter Hering

Was able to configure this blade on a string trimmer. Works well on small diameter brush. Holds an edge and easy to sharpen with a grinder or axe file.
