Great Cutter for a Great Price
Man, this thing was as smooth as silk. Using some oil I purchased at the same time, I could not hear this thing scoring the glass. When I held the glass up and looked at, it was scored perfectly and the glass parted with minimal effort. Works like a dream.

Game changer
Several bathroom remodeling projects produced a surplus of plate glass mirrors I wanted to repurpose. I'd never worked with glass this thick before and my first few attempts to cut the glass with a Red Devil cutter were a disaster as the cutter barely scratched the glass much less scored it. Assuming the wheel was dull from previous projects, I purchased a Kobalt multi-wheel one from Lowes. This too proved futile as I couldn't achieve a successful score the full length of the glass without having to take another run at it. Multiple passes left a raggedy score line of inconsistent depth which resulted in jagged, unreliable breaks. No matter what method I tried to affect the break, it never broke cleanly along the line. At my wits end, I did what any sane person would have done sooner, and that is turn to YouTube. I hit pay dirt with one video in particular. I was spellbound as the person performing the demonstration scored and broke plate glass cleanly and effortlessly time after time, every time. There was no voice-over accompanying the video, but the gentleman who made it was gracious enough to name the tools used and to provide links to them. First item listed was this cutter. Second was a pair of "running pliers" (link to those at bottom of review). The two of these tools combined were game changers. First off, the cutter scored perfectly the full length of the glass each cut I made without having to over exert, or make additional passes as I did with the Red Devil and Kobalt ones.Second, the pliers which are extremely pricey ($95) snapped the glass perfectly at the line each and every time. Gone was the uncertainty of the outcome, and considering how much glass I have yet to cut (one piece 4'x7'), these tools will more than pay for themselves in short order. As one other reviewer observed, they're worth every penny. Be advised when purchasing this cutter you will have to buy the oil separately.CRL Plate Glass Pliers: CRL Plate Glass Pliers These running pliers aren't difficult to use but there is a definite technique. A word of caution regarding force exerted with the pliers, less is more... Grip the glass at the top of the score line and with gentle and ever so slightly increasing pressure squeeze the pliers together until you see a line run up the score until the glass separates entirely. Considering the thickness of the glass and how insignificant the depth of the score line is, it's pretty awesome.

Quality cutter
I am a professional glazier, I do this on a daily basis and this is my second cutter, not due to any fault in the tool but for the convenience of one in the shop and one in my truck for on site cuts so i dont have to move my one cutter back and forth. It's a great tool, easy to use, great quality, and durable.

I did it!
I needed to cut 15 inches off a very large mirror during my bath renovation. I heeded the advice of one of the youtubers I watched. Buy a quality cutter. It is not worth it to buy a cheap cutter and ruin a $200 mirror. So, although nervous, I took the plunge and I couldn't be more pleased with this glass cutter! Perfect cut! I am a 66 year old woman do-it-yourselfer and renovated my entire bathroom while watching step by step how-to youtubes!

Easy to use. Works great.
Perhaps I made a mistake buying this as the TC17 head is supposed to be for 3mm-10mm glass. The glass I bought this for is thin picture frame glass. I'm guessing 1mm-1.5mm. I also forgot to use lubricant like you're supposed to. However, I put a straight edge on my thin picture frame glass and zziiiippppp, made a single fairly light pressure pass. Subsequently, the glass snapped cleanly along the scribe mark with very little hand pressure. I am impressed!

Awesome Glass Cutter, follow directions, and use oil, even cuts mild curves with ease
I love this cutter. I am so tired of the rare task of cutting a piece of glass to replace a broken piece with the cheap cutters that don't work. This cutter cuts clean, glass breaks clean and free, head swivels to cut curves. I don't fill the handle with oil, as it will leak out through the head as it is a gravity feed, and that makes a mess. I just put a drop of oil on the cutting wheel when making a cut. I don't cut a lot of glass though. If you were cutting a lot, you would probably use the oil drip system that is designed into this cutter. I cut a curved line to replace the corner of a window pane that was broken off in a squiggly line and it broke clean enough to replace the corner and you can't even tell that it was two pieces of glass.

Snappy
Took a large mirror that was glued to the wall, Which I suspect every 80’s rental unit has multiple of like my home, and scored and snapped to size. Then made a huge custom mirror frame and mounted to a tiled backsplash during remodel. Saved a bunch of money and got a great looking mirror plus did my own recycling. Sometimes a simple quality tool is just satisfying to use.

Works great
Reviewing the TOYO Original Supercutter® Metal Handle Straight Head Oil Cutter.I'm not even an amateur. I just needed to cut some glass to replace one that broke in a large picture frame. My wife had a very large pane that could be used as a donor. I also wanted to salvage a section out of a large mirror that had cracked. After watching many Youtube videos but still experiencing frustrating attempts to learn to cut on scrap pieces with the devices they sell in the local hardware stores (and in a local craft store but part of a large chain), I bit the bullet and sprung for the Toyo (once it came on sale). It was very easy to learn to use and I very quickly gained enough proficiency and confidence to do the jobs. It is a pleasure to work with and the built-in oil reservoir holds oil very well—I store it upside down which might explain that—and it also dispenses the oil very well.

Not sure if this is real or fake?
The cutter indicate Toyo Japan, but came in a cheap package Made in China. I don't know if this is real or fake. All the metal parts seem heavy and well made, but the price is very very low. Anyway, I will try it out and update the review next few months.

Never lets me down
I’ve been a glass cutter for 37 years and always rely on Toyo cutters. You can get cheaper cutters yes but I’ve never had a problem with Toyo’s but have with others.

A Gem of a tool
This is the best purchase I have ever made and my only regret is not finding out about this oil cutter sooner . I can now cut any piece of glass or mirror with confidence and on the first cut . Something I had never experienced in the past . I highly recommend it .
