Q: Is the ruler measurement accurate? I have heard to order a 1/2 size up and a size down even!

I'm not sure about what is meant by a ruler measurement. I wear an 8.5 almost always and ended up ordering a 10. It fits great. And it's not that I am wearing extra thick socks or anything. Just normal socks I would wear with my walking shoes or hiking boots.

Q: These boots are obviously good for snow but are they good during hikes?

Hikes on mountains- you'd probably want some yaktrax too, but they are comfortable enough to wear all day. If I wanted hiking winter boots, I'd get something shorter and wear some boot gaiters.

Q: Do Sorel boots make your feet sweat?

No, they kept my feet warm in the cold temps, but I didn't notice them sweating.

Q: Does any one knows if this boots are for long walks in the rain?

The Tivoli High is a winter snow boot not a rain boot and I would not suggest that it be used that way.Thank youBluemoon Footwear Discounters
