Another Zapata goodie!
I've only recently discovered Mariana's books and I'm so glad I have. This is another romantic story with such likeable characters and no major dramas which sometimes can spoil a good romance story.

My kind of love story
If I could, I like to give it 4.5 stars. Taking half off for the ending. The ending is not as dramatic as soon of the events that happened in tour. Love them & can almost smell & feel the dirt!

Rhythm, Chord and Malykhin...
I seen this book advertised and recommended on another authors FB page so thought why not!? I'm always looking for new authors...and I've found one! 😊I wondered what exactly others meant when they said it was a slow building book, well now I know...this isn't rushed the way some books are, ie they meet and within days they're a couple and at it all the time, they have their hae and that's it - no! This shows the couple's friendship first, how they feel and interact, it's cute and quote humourous. Infact they don't get together until near the end of the book! Which was a nice change lol. This is Gaby going on tour with her brother, his band (who she grew up with so it's like 3 brothers!) I loved their relationship, typical sibling rivalry and protectiveness over each other - yes I can call her flabby but noone else can kinda thing! There's also another band and whooheeee the lead singer is hot! I loved the way she was just a normal everyday girl who can hang out (and live with on a cramped bus for 3months!) with a group of other guys and there's no real drama or bitchiness - I can relate as I grew up with my older than me uncles, went out drinking with them and their mates, I was treated as one of them and not a wee girl the way some people did! Some just didn't get it but that's the way it was! Anyway, back to Gaby and Sacha!!...I liked them! It's an enjoyable read. If your looking a book full of drama and action and sex then this isn't for you! It's a good cute read, there's humour and friendship and attraction and I would love to read more of it/them!

Funny, feel-good, slow-burn romance!
Thoroughly enjoyed this story!"I fell in love with the voice in the dark. No joke, no exaggeration. It was a pure, raw love."Gaby Barreto has no boyfriend, no permanent address and no job. When her twin, Eli, badgers her to join a worldwide tour for three months with his band, she might as well go since there are currently no other prospects for her. When she finds out that they are sharing the tour with the headlining act, she's pretty cool about it until she meets Sacha Malykhin, the lead singer, in the most embarrassing way! However, the two of them gel pretty quickly and find themselves fast friends, although Gaby is crushing hard and working to accept that friendship is all they'll ever have between them. Or, is it?"You're an idiot if you think that you're no one special to me. You're the most special...The most."It's been a while since I've read this author. I've been waiting for some free time to read her back catalogue before I read the two newer stories, and I hadn't realised how much I'd missed her writing. This story was funny and sweet. I adored Gaby! She's kickass, pragmatic, fun and can hold her own with the boys. Sacha's character reminded me of the male lead in Lingus. He's a nice, genuine guy all around, kind of goofy, as well as hella hot! I was riveted to my Kindle, as I watched their growing closeness and saw things developing that Gaby couldn't see. They were so in sync with each other. I also loved the dynamic between Gaby, her brother and his two best friends. There were plenty of high jinks and very little mercy between them, but a tonne of laughs and camaraderie. This was fabulous feel-good read.

This is objectively bad
I try not to be overly negative when reviewing but this is an objectively horrendous book on so many levels. I have read and enjoyed books but this author in the past but this was like a fever dream I couldn't wake up from. I only finished it out of shear morbid curiosity. It was like it was written by a drunk 14 year old girl in the early to late 2000s who just learned about the concept of sex. It was like reading a bad one direction fan fiction if all the members of the band were John Mayer. It was like reading a book written by an undercover cop tryna bust teens for reading porn but couldn't really get into the actual nitty gritty for fear of committing entrapment. The reasons I feel comfortable being this blunt about the shear awfulness if this book are as follows: a) facts are facts and the fact is this book made me uncomfy at the best of times and want to jump out the nearest window at the worst; b) this book was OFFENSIVE. Not to label myself as the woke police but this book was low-key homophobic, high-key transphobic and VERY ANTI-WOMAN. If I had to hear one more version of the phrase "you're not like other girls Gaby, you're a cool girl" I swear to god I was going to find a way to end all of mankind. C) if being called a girl as an insult is the highest form of banter you can come up with then I suggest finding new people to associate with d) gross and weird nicknames that should be outlawed e) NOTHING HAPPENS IN THIS BOOK THERE IS NO PLOT OR ARC OR STRUGGLE OF ANY KIND it's basically girl meets boy they both like eachother the end f) I think they dry hump to completion but I was majorly skimming at that point

Sweet and funny
I adore this book! I've re read it a few times and it never fails to make me laugh. A true girl next door romance with a rock twist. It's really sweet with no major obstacles in the plot. Perfect story to read and relax.

Not her best
I've read 9 of Zapata's books in the last 3 months and this is definitely not her best. If you told me someone else wrote this and then slapped her name on it, I'd believe you. I didn't warm up to the main character. The romance was luke warm at best. And all the casual transphobia and homophobia made me really uncomfortable. Not to mention the constant putting down of all other women. Just a big NO for me. If this was the first Mariana Zapata book I'd ever read, I'd have never read anything else by her. I'd recommend you go read anything else by her before picking this one up. But I'd especially recommend From Lukov with Love, Kulti, The Wall of Winnipeg and Me, and Wait for It
