Whimsical jazz arrangements that may drive your classical piano teacher crazy
These jazz arrangements of well known classical pieces are great! Whimsical and humorous without disrespect to the original composers(we hope) Kudos to Brent Edstrom for creative arrangements

Fun!
I’ve been trying out several books in this series lately and I really like this one- some really fresh harmonies and rhythms keep things interesting without being TOO far left field or so difficult I don’t want to play it. My faves in this book are the Dvorak New World Symphony arrangement and surprisingly the Ave Maria. I’m a long time church pianist/organist and I could get away with playing some of these in church as you can still easily hear the original melodies.

Foremost a Classical Book With Jazz Thrown In
I have purchased on Amazon many Hal Leonard Jazz books for piano. In general, I like most of the books. Before you purchase this book, however, you should know that it is a collection of classical pieces. If you like to play classical piano music, then you may really enjoy this book. If you're like me and like to play more contemporary music in a jazz style, then I think you'll be disappointed. It really depends what you're looking for in sheet music. I gave it four stars because I think as a collection of classical pieces with a slight jazz orientation, it is is fine. It is just not my cup of tea.
