Threads seemed slightly oversized. On a short nipple needed to remove 1/8" to get it to tighten

Does not work on T’s or valves
The blades are not parallel to each other resulting in uneven compression of the release collar. And, for 1/2” fittings, this will not work with T fittings or valves due to how the blades are welded to the tool. Otherwise a very nice tool, well constructed, solid feel. Fine for 3/4” and 1” sizes except for blades not being parallel. But would work OK if you could squeeze the tops of the blades with vice grips to get them to give an even squeeze on the release collar.

Threads Tapped Too Deep - No Seal
All male 1/2 NPT fittings tried bottomed out in these unions so there was no way to make a seal. Threads tapped too deep.

Not metal-to-metal mating surface
The mating surfaces are not metal-to-metal like most other unions. There is a rubber gasket for a mating surface.
