WORKS GREAT! But amazon keeps deleting my review
Idk why but Amazon keeps deleting my review saying it violates community guidelines. I guess they donāt want anyone with honest reviews here. Funny thing is, my review is solid and doesnāt violate any guidelines, which Iāve reviewed meticulously. So unless they state exactly what portion of their guidelines I broke, Iām copy and pasting my exact same review here again and again:āOk so no, it wouldnāt fit initially but with a tad bit of effort and ingenuity, it works perfectly!I am using 1 for the inner doorknob and 1 for the outer. The frame is within millimeters of the knob and so I would scrape my knuckles bloody every time I wanted in or out of my new townhome. What a pain in the A, right?! So thankfully these rubber handles exist. I read the reviews and was skeptical but I figured where thereās a will thereās surely a way.First, they didnāt quite fit around the knobs as the rubber is a bit tight. So first thing to do is rub, inside and outside the handle, some Tamanu oil (or Olive Oil works if ya donāt have Tamanu *BUT DO NOT USE COCONUT OIL AS IT WILL DEGRADE THE RUBBER*) and let that sit for at least 60 seconds, then pat it dry with a cloth towel (not a paper towel!). This will give the rubber extended elasticity and also protect it from wear in the heat and prevent the rubber from damage from oxidizing. I highly recommend doing this before the next step!Second, heat the rubber a bit so it is nice and warm- not too hot. I used a hair dryer as shown in my pictures. Then you can put your fingers inside and pull outward so it extends the size and elasticity of the rubber enclosure/walls. Look at my other picture to see how I placed my fingers inside. It takes a little bit of strength but just repeat that several times and try to hold the shape outward for at least a few seconds each time.Third, and read the fourth optional step before doing this, you can place the enclosure from top to bottom of the handle (side to side doesnāt work as well for my knob). Fitting it top to bottom while pushing back on the knob really does the trick.Fourth, and was necessary for me because my exterior knob wanted to slip off since the door needs to be pulled and not pushed, use some strong bonding glue.I put a dab of the glue on the knob and then slipped the handle over it. I found it best to do a dab on the sides rather than top and bottom. This handle works flawlessly for my use and Im no longer scraping my knuckles when I open my front door!Awesome product!

Exactly what was needed for hand disability
Ignore those who write negative reviews about this being too small. This is the small version; hence it fits standard small thin-depth door knobs that look like the general shape of the knob portion of this product in its picture. If you have a standard deep/thick door knob, then you need to purchase the larger version of this product, which shows a large and deeper knob pocket. One of the negative reviews shows a standard deep door knob and trying to install this product on it, which obviously won't work. That door knob requires the larger version. If you have the smaller interior thin-depth door knobs, regardless of it being on an exterior door or interior door, then this is a perfect fit. This has been a life safer for my mother who had hand disabilities. Please note that they have a combination of both the thin depth and full depth door knobs throughout the house and needed several of both this smaller version and the larger version which all worked out great. If you have the smaller door knobs on your front door then this is also a perfect fit, just note that you use this product to turn the knob, not to pull a door open. To pull an exterior door open, you still need to put your hand behind the knob before pulling; otherwise, you will pull this product off. But that's just common sense. If you live in a very cold climate, just note that rubber doesn't do all that well in freezing temperatures and you need to take care when using it to not crack it as rubber will crack in freezing temperatures if you are rough with it.

Not ideal for home entry doors.
We bought a new home which has round knobs. Due to my disability, I have trouble turning our doorknobs especially since they are so smooth and "slippery". So, I bought this extension handle to at least make it easier to open the front door.As others have already reported, this handle is difficult to push onto the knob. At the time I actually thought it was a good sign that the handle would remain in place. I was wrong.Entry doors have seals to help keep the home better insolated. This usually means that these doors require you to pull or push a little more than interior doors (if the door is insulated properly that is). As a result, every time I went to open the door by pulling, of course, the handle would start bending and coming off of the knob.In my opinion, these handles should work fairly well for interior since these doors usually have no resistance to speak of. For exterior doors or any door that has a bit of resistance when you try opening it, look elsewhere for a handle. If your dexterity is anything like mine this handle will not work. The exterior doors will more than likely need some sort of mechanism that tightens down with some sort of clamp to assure that it will remain in place. In my case, we will probably have to replace the entire knob itself. Since our front door is an Avalon style, it will be a bit more expensive to replace. Sometimes less expensive options just don't work. The Sammons Preston Soft Rubber Doorknob Extension Handle ended up being one of those times cases.

Standard doorknobs, but hard to get on, harder to keep it on
I had high hopes for this doorknob extender. As a person with only one fully functional hand, it would be an enormous advantage to be able to open a door with my less-functional hand. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get it to fit over the door handle securely enough that it doesn't slip either when I'm turning it or when I'm pulling on the door. Pulling in particular, it starts coming off the doorknob as I pull on it. And there is nothing fancy about these doorknobs on my home ā just a standard old doorknobs from a home built in the 1970s.

Too small and yet also too big⦠but they will do the job sorta
Too small for exterior knobs and a little too big for interior knobsā¦. but weāve found that only very slight pressure is necessary to get them to āgrabā when using on interior knobs, so great for the price. These were really really important for giving my wife some independence after shattering her wrists.
