This XL is a great safe. Well built strong, heavy safe lid. I believe this safe is unbreachable, easy access with a 4 or up to 6 digits. Great size and very easy to use. The first safe I purchased didn't last 5 month. I believe I will have this safe for a very long time. Thank you.

This is an amazing and solid pistol safe. I have a Beretta and I appreciate the spacious compartment locking it down. I love that there are also keys that come with the numeric pad-locked safe. The keys are not those crappy quality ones where they will break on you and you will be screwed. They are cylindrical-shaped keys. There are two holes at the base of the safe, allowing you to anchor it to the floor or desk, etc. Resetting the number combination on the unit was a little tricky for me however. The instructions did not help me find the reset button. Basically you have to insert the batteries and then (before putting the dongle back into the safe) run your finger along the inner side and feel for a small button to press. I thought the button was on the dongle that you insert the batteries into, but it is not. Be very careful with how you handle that by the way. You do not want to accidentally tear out the wires. Be gentle with it. But the reset button should be along the inner wall of the safe that is directly underneath the number pad. Though the angle was really bad, I needed a flashlight to help shine more light so I could see how big/small this button was. Once you find it, follow the instructions normally. In order to use the electronic combination, you need to first "wake it up." If my combo was 2-4-1-3 (key placement- actual keys are not numbered or marked) then you would first have to press one of the buttons (any button) to activate it- then punch in your code.The safe itself is very strong. Nice thick walls and pry-bar proof. I am very pleased with it. The bottom is padded which is nice but the side walls are not. Since I anchored it down to my desk I don't have to worry about my gun banging around inside. But if you are planning on moving this safe around a lot, you may want to improvise and cut-out/ glue some soft foam to line the sides with. I've used several sentry safe's over the years, most just for documents and minor valuables in case of fire. But I needed something strong, quick opening, and small to keep a pistol by the bed for self defense situations. The construction is steel, its heavy and feels sturdy. The bevel bend of the steel on top makes it much harder to pry, or to use power tools on. It easily fits my .38, 2 speed loaders, and a back up box of ammo. This is the perfect piece of mind for a pistol box. It can store any standard size pistols, namely .9mm, .357 .38 Etc. It won't hold extended barrels, so make sure you read the dimensions before you purchase.The standout - very fast, quick release. You can choose from a 4-6 digit security code. Button's are un numbered, which will make it more difficult to hack. Once the code is entered the lid pops open quickly, giving you immediate access to your firearm. You can attach it to the floor, the wall, or a nightstand with the included lag bolts for extra security.The Cons- The very thing to keep unwanted hands out can cost you time. After set up, and a few "practice" openings, I've found I can get the pistol out, and ready for business time in less than 5 seconds. But like all self defense situations, its best to practice "real world" situations by opening it several times. You must press a button first to "wake up" the keypad, which means if you have a 6 digit code, you will have to press 7 buttons. Not difficult once you've tried it. The buttons are a bit mushy feel wise, they don't make any sound that would let you know you've pressed the right one, so again, its a little bit of practice.Overall I give this safe 5 stars. Security is high, entry is quick, size is important for hiding. Any safe can be cracked with the right tools, and time, but being that the average robbery/ home invasion lasts 12 minutes, I have piece of mind with my pistol not being stolen, kids can't open it, and if I need to get it out fast, I can. Great Product.

This is one great pistol safe and it is a good small safe for personal valuables. There are 4 buttons on it to open it, but you can choose 4 or 5 or 6 buttons in your code sequence, which is misleading to a would be curious person trying to open it. The safe only holds one pistol, I have a colt 1911 in it with a magazine, this is an airsoft gun, but it is a PTP, same size, look and feel of real steel. The safe has a quiet gas opening piston, it is not whisper quiet, but it is silent enough if you have your hand on the lid as it is pushed open from the piston. Room for an iPad mini in there, money, ID, etc. It has a pair cylinder keys that open the safe no matter the code. I have it bolted down in a hidden desk drawer, it is even safer that way, out of sight, out of mind.

Great quality, quiet operation, and the buttons are back-lit so no fumbling in the dark.I wanted something to store a pistol that would keep out small hands. This works perfect and it fits inside a drawer near my bed. Totally discrete, safe to store a pistol, and quick access should something terrible happen.
