Professional, low profile, nice weight, and smooth writing.
The media could not be loaded. Nice pen for a decent price. Not particularly flashy. Low profile, but professional. Excellent smoothness in writing. This is my first purchase of a Cross brand pen - will likely consider buying again if I need another pen at this price point.

Simple luxury
I purchased this as a replacement to a gift I had received a couple of winters ago. I am more of a fountain pen type of girl but this ball point writes so smoothly and just glides cross the page. I love it!

Save your money and skip this pen!
I bought my Cross Century II ballpoint in black lacquer a little over two years ago so I've had some time to really see if I like this pen or not. Turns out it's not such a good pen, which is quite disappointing. Growing up I saw Cross pens as the pen to have. And from the looks of it, based on other reviews the company has cheapened it's products over time.First of all, the weight and size are perfect. The pen feels great in my hands and this particular size was a determining factor when selecting this pen. It's a bit wider in diameter than the Cross Classic Century but that's about the only good thing I have to say about the Cross Century II ballpoint. The first problem I encountered was the lack of consistency with replacement inks. Some were better than others, and you can find reviews about that on Amazon, just wanted to say, I too had problems with the ink. The pen itself has had problems with the finish not being as smooth all around. The top (the part that twists) has a grainy finish (should be smooth) and it has chipped over time. The other problem, the one that has really showed me how low end this pen really is, is that the clip has loosened so much that I can't even clip it to a shirt pocket anymore, and this has resulted in dropping this time repeatedly, so much that I'm surprised I haven't lost it.According to Cross' website Cross pens have a lifetime warranty but it's quite limited. Also I called their 800 number two or three times and could never get a hold of someone. I was on hold so long that I was able to read through all their requirements for returns. First off, you pay shipping. Second there is a $10 processing fee, and third they do not guarantee the issue will be covered under warranty, so I figured it was not worth messing with for a $30 pen. I will probably not but another Cross, but I will say if you really want one to try the Cross Classic Century instead, they are half the price and seem better made. They use the same ink only the pen is a bit more narrow. Better for keeping in a check book, but at least mine is holding up much better than this one. For a nice pen then the Cross Century II rollerball with cap is a very nice, heavy especially the one finished with 24k gold has also held up well, but at about $50 I don't carry it much but for a little more that one has been a much nicer pen.

Cross Pen Girth
I have had a Cross Century II ball point pen with gold finish for many years. When I ordered a second one, except with the Rhodium finish, I was expecting an identical pen except for the finish. However, upon receipt of the new pen I quickly noticed that it was thinner than my old Cross. It feels less hefty in the hand. I’m disappointed.

Not the same
I have an older version of this same pen and it is unfortunate, but this new version feels much more cheaply made. I didn't think it would ever come to this with Cross pens but it has. Quite disappointed with how it cost to how cheaply made the pen is.
