Perfectly designed everyday backpack. Comphy. Soooo comphy.
I went through dozens of bag reviews, bought four of them and returned (sorry Amazon), when I just should have started with the GOAT of pack manufacturers, Timbuk2. For everyday carry this is the best. Great padding, all the little details like thumb hooks for the straps, adjustable and removable chest clasps, high grade zippers and premium material; it's all here. I don't like a dozen pockets for items that will change size over time and limit what I can carry. Compartments are roomy at the bottom but keep the bag snug. Straps are padded and perfectly designed. When Ipick it up it feels a little weighty until it gets on my shoulder and then feels like a feather. You could pack this thing out and walk around all day with no problem. YKK zips of course. I ordered a $420 that could not hold a candle to this thing. Love the tight laptop compartment which feels like it has enough padding to stop a truck. Plush top handle which is a must.Only one con is the bottom strap clasps. They feel very fragile as they are light plastic. Would have gone with metal, even magnetic, because I think these things are going to get beat up hard since they are in the bottom of the pack. However, I haven't had it that long so we will see.All told, this is a $500 everyday carry stylish and top grade everyday backpack for $150. I've had my Timbuk2 messenger bag for more years than I can remember, so I guess I'll write a followup review in 2035. 😃

Tons of space, with lean look
LOVE this bag. Great size in terms of volume and how it looks on a shorter person - spacious, but has a lean silhouette. And many functional compartments.

THIS BACKPACK GREATLY IMPROVED MY AIR TRAVEL EXPERIENCES traveling with a dog
It was such a struggle getting through the airport dragging a roller, carrying a purse, and holding a dog on a leash.I was not willing to check my small bag since it had valuable electronics in it. I came across an article that mentioned the Timbuk 2 as a great way for hands free travel. After reading the specs, I was sold. My 16" MacBook Pro, and my iPad fit in the back pocket. In the next pocket I managed to fit my Spanish notebook, a doggy blanket, a puffer coat, and snacks in the this pocket. In the most forward one, I put my id's, miscellaneous stuff, and some cash in the front that was super easy to gain access to. There is a waster bottle holder which easily fit my large insulated bottle. The straps are thick and comfortable. The back is ventilated. I chose eco titanium and love the dark color.I am totally sold and will never travel without this Timbuk2 laptop backpack.

Great bag, but could be a little roomier.
This bag was exactly what I wanted. A smaller backpack to complement a carry-on and that can fit under the seat in front of me. Never had an issue (usually fly Delta and their partners). As all Timbuktu products, this is of high quality. It also fits my 15" Lenovo workstation laptop, which is often a problem. The only gripe is that the main pocket is too thin. The bag overall is too low profile. That's a good thing but another 1-2" of space would make a difference and allow one to pack a change of clothes.

Super sleek, comfortable. Essentially a wearable, secure laptop case, with extra storage.
This product is perfect for my use needs, I wanted a comfortable bag that leaves no concern for the safety of the laptop. The bag is obviously still a bag, and a laptop could be broken while inside, but for normal wear, I would be shocked if my laptop were to break due to the durability of the laptop sleeve. The laptop sleeve seems well reenforced, with extra padding on both sides. The other two main pockets are supplementary in my opinion, as the design of the bag seems to be with the intention of being sleek/thin. While you can store a good amount of items in the bag, I would use a different bag for travel, or efficient packing (storage/price ratio is not the intention of the bag). There is a secondary sleeve in one of the other main pockets that could fit an additional laptop, but this sleeve is less reenforced. If you really wanted you could probably fit like 4-5 laptops in the bag, but the incentive is to use the reinforced pocket for the laptop. If you want a good looking, comfortable bag that is ideal for laptops, I would highly recommend this bag. This is my second Timbuk2 bag, and I have used them daily. I've never felt like I need a better bag of the same style.

Packs a ton, looks great
Exactly what I needed. I love that I can pack a lot in it (like 3 Nalgene bottles, a computer, iPad, small makeup bag, a book, and other smaller items) and it still doesn’t look huge.

Great all-around bag!
Was looking for a replacement for my Lenovo Legion Recon backpack (which was finally giving out after years of use). Did a ton of analysis-paralysis over many months, before finally pulling the trigger on the Timbuk2. Not a perfect backpack, but am quite happy with it after a few months of use.A lot of the reviews have listed out the PROS, so let me just lay out what I consider my CONS:- water bottle container quite tight; can only insert "small" water canteens, but my 20oz Klean Kanteen is too large apparently.- no dedicated compartments for headphones, mouse, etc - there's a a few pockets and multiple compartments, but my previous bag had clearly labeled compartments for all the above, which were purposebuilt (e.g. headphones compartment had a velcro holder). The Timbuk2 has a huge central compartment, but I just end up dumping everything inside it. The 2nd frontmost compartment has more pockets, but a bit tight for my items (mouse, power adapters, Steam Deck, ebook reader, etc).- a bit "front heavy"; keeps tilting over, even if I have a laptop in the backmost compartment. Might be because of my load, but also may be because it's a bit more compact than expected. That being said, these are all MY personal CONS; I'm still giving it 5 stars because the quality feels unmatched, there is enough space for my things, and it's quite comfortable on my back. :)
