Perfect tiny pen
I just got this today. So I obviously haven't done an excessive amount of writing with it- but I have done some- and I LOVE it! This thing is so little. I was concerned about whether trying to write with such a small-widt-hpen would be a headache, but it's not. I'll use it to write in my journal every day, which is approx one pages' worth of a pocket-size moleskine notebook. I used duct tape to create a little picket to hold it on along the binder, and it hardly changes to size of the notebook. Perfect for that! People complained that the cover popped off quite easily, and I don't seem to see that as much of a problem. Tge pen is so short, but once the cover is fixed on the back it ends up being a good length. The clip was quite snug. I'm very happy with the dark red colour too. Attached pic- and I feel as though the size is smaller in reality than how it looks in the pic. But still good example. And I have very small hands. Overall excellent purchase!

Has Trade-offs, But Works Right
This pen is the absolute lightest and best you will find for a lightweight and trail-worthy backpacking pen. It has the pressurized ink cartridge that writes under any conditions. It's so incredibly lightweight that it won't impact your bottom-line when cutting grams for a thru-hike. Pair it with a waterproof paper notebook from Rite-in-the-Rain or Field Notes, etc. to get that perfect writing set up for rainy camping. The cons... Primarily that the size of it is just cumbersome. It's thin and short. Writing without the cap posted on the back will be tough. But even when you do post the cap, it doesn't hold well to provide the sturdy length you need. Add that to writing on a tiny, ultralight pocket notebook like mentioned above, and you're gonna struggle to read your own handwriting when you go home and try to reminisce on your trip. And something tells me that out in the woods you won't have a desk to sit and write at either, which would help further remedy the situation.I rate this a firm 2.5 stars but round up for Amazon's standards out of 5 stars. The pros and cons are such a split that it falls right in the middle. By the way, it's not a cheap pen, either. I'd love to see Fisher design something that falls in at no more than one ounce in weight but is much more ergonomically fitting than this.

Fisher quality in a compact size
This has the Space Pen refill inside, so it writes on dirty/wet/oily surfaces better than any other ballpoint pen I have used, and at any angle or temperature. I like to throw a Fisher pen in the glovebox because it is the only pen I have found that you can leave there all summer, and have it work first try when you need it. A regular ballpoint pen would have dried out at the tip and been unusable (well, OK, you may be able to 'rescue' it by heating the end with a lighter, or licking the tip and scribbling on a piece of cardboard, etc, but with the Fisher you can dig it out, and start writing). 4 stars instead of 5 because the barrel is a little thin, and the finish is a little slick for me to easily grab with my size XL hands. However, it is just thick enough, and gives just enough traction to still be easily usable, but it just isn't quite as easy to write with as the original Bullet pen, in matte finish (the matte finish is less slippery, especially if your hands are wet). This is more an observation than complaint, because if you read the description, this is a 'compact' pen, and it is. Folded, it is hardly bigger than the refill for my Bullet pen, just think of it as a smaller, slimmer version. It isn't much shorter, but is notably thinner, not really much thicker than a soda straw. To use, you pull off the cap, and reverse the body so that the cap adds to the overall length of the pen. Doing this gives you a pen of usable length. Without the cap, it is long enough to write with, but barely. The price is also an asset. For barely more than just a refill for my Bullet pen, I have a whole extra pen I can stuff about anywhere, so I have a working pen when I need one.

Perfect travel pen.
So far, i love it. It is the perfect weight and the perfect size for a backup pen in my travel wallet.I travel at least 2 weeks a month for business and needed a reliable pen to fill out customs forms. I had previously been using cheap disposable pens from hotels and conferences but found that while they seemed to write well when I took them, they somehow ceased to write when stored in my carry-on bag. I found that I kept picking up those pens until I had maybe 5 or 6 plastic hotel pens in the exterior pocket of my carry-on. If I was lucky, one of those pens might work well enough and long enough to fill out a customs form. This pen is lightweight enough that I can carry more than one if I wanted to. It is small enough to be tossed into an interior zippered pocket of any tote I own and even fits alongside my passport. While it is not very comfortable and the cap does not really stay securely on the pen for any vigorous writing. It's perfect in every way for a travel pen.

The cap won't stay on! Terrible cap.
The cap has no positive retention mechanism, and constantly comes loose and gets lost, or the pen ends up coloring on the inside of your pants pocket since that's where I tried carrying it. The "pen" is essentially just a Space Pen cartridge, with a cover, making it slim and neat. However, because the cap has no design element to keep it in place, you have to try to just push it on so hard that friction holds it, which has not proven to work well. Unless you need this slightly thinner version, buy the regular Fisher Bullet Pen instead.

Wonderful little pen
Finally! A quality pen that fits the flipnote! (by Wellspring) Toss away the cheap pen that comes with it.Just like any fisher space pen, it writes smoothly. It is great for my semi-small hands. I wouldn't write with it for hours, but it's great for jotting down notes on my to-do list! The pen feels substantial and the "Fisher" on the clip is classy and understated. Please make this in silver and without the cap as well!
