The board has been great for play..magnets stay in place and material feels great. I actually prefer that the pieces don't have their own casing inside when folding (as it's easier to just scoop and store). Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the clasp to hold is not affixed great and seems likely to come off after some more use. Other than that great board and still good value

This great little board is easily a five star purchase. I was searching for a tiny board to take along on trips, something convenient enough for taking out, and with strong enough magnets to be used on road trips in the car. I ruled out the tiny metal sets because of how difficult they are to move with fingertips. This perfectly sized leather set is extremely well made and feels great to play on. The inside storage is roomy and easy to throw pieces in. The pieces are really nicely molded plastic and I can't seem to find parting lines, flash, or rough edges anywhere. The magnets are sturdy and the board can be inverted without losing pieces, but not so strong that they're annoying.This set is 10 1/4" x 10 3/8" open and not pocket sized or as small as a roll-up, but I like this more for playability on a rigid board with nice tactile stitched leather. I've read the comments that the board doesn't open completely flat on a surface, but this one is fine. I'd flex and exercise the hinge to break it in, or use a leather conditioner to soften the hinge. The closed case is 1 3/4" thick and easy to carry or put into a bag. It's become my family's go-to set, and we like it better than a larger 3 in 1 briefcase style game set that we have.

This Magnetic Chess Set is awesome. It is perfect for travel. The case is a nice touch for chess on the go.

Trae unas calcomanías bonitas, instructivo, súper buen tamaño 32cm, una funda protectora del tablero, lo que no sabía es que traía 2 reinas de cada color, ese detalle me encantó. El imán es bueniiiiisimo y el tamaño de las fichas y su peso es excelente. Sin duda lo recomiendo ampliamente.

The media could not be loaded. The build quality is much better than I expected! I did receive one piece where the felt bottom had been scrunched up a bit, revealing the magnet in the bottom. – See picture - The piece was easily fixed, simply by stretching the felt fabric back across the piece – it still had plenty of sticking power left and it is still working fine.One of the features that I like is the weight in the bottom of these pieces which brings the centre of gravity to the base. It is substantial enough that pieces don’t tip over too easily. The pieces are also large enough to have a good balance. The magnets are easily strong enough to cling to metal surfaces - even upside down. I am hoping to use these in a wall-mounted vertical chessboard. I found that these are also durable enough to withstand falls to the tiled floor. I think these will last a lifetime. They look and feel great to use, especially considering the price. As noted in the headline the size of the king in this set is two inches. It looks like the plastic chess set that most people use in regulation tournaments though quite a bit smaller. It would be useful as replacement pieces for one of those all in one chess sets/backgammon/checkers etc. The pieces do not take up much room at all. This would be useful in an analysis chess set or a small chess board to play over the moves in a chess book.

Esta increible el tablero, el tacto asi como que los imanes de las piezas aunque las piezas son algo livianas y son de plastico desaconcejo doblarlas o ponerles mucha fuerza y mucho mas dejarlas descuidadas a un niño (ya que son pequeñas y retardados)
