Found a better way to tether him!
Got this duck a couple days ago, we are using it mark an anchor and have a line to tether our lily pad to. After reading reviews I was concerned about the best way to do this with a heavy enough line to hold. Figured out a solution-HE GOT A DOG COLLAR! Not only will it not come off his big old head and massive beak, the ring on the collar was perfect to attach the anchor line. I think he looks pretty happy!

Sank after heavy rain
We purchased this duck to mark the end of our irrigation pipe in our lake. After a heavy rain, the duck sank! It was in the lake less than 1 week. I can only presume the hole where the rope is adhered took on water coupled with the depression "belly" on top of the duck caused this to occur. It had plenty of slack, so that was not the problem. I am very sad about this, and can not return it as it took my husband months to install it.

Perfectly cute
I used a piece of dental loop floss to string it up because that was tricky. We do need to caulk around the hole to keep the water out but it worked great regardless.

Cute, Cute, Cute Huge Rubber Duckie
I knew someone who had one of these on the fence surrounding their pool. I wanted to steal it. I didn't so when I saw this duck I just had to order it even though I don't have a pool.It is so cute in person I want to look at it all the time. I thought, at first, I would use it to mark rocks near our off grid lake cottage. After reading that they fill with water and sink I decided I would attach it to our dock while we are at the cabin and just let if float. Or, I am considering finding a way to attach it to the bow of one of our small aluminum boats like a figurehead. Or, maybe I will just tie it to the top of the dock so it can greet everyone who goes by. There are all kinds of ways to use it and I am thinking of getting another one to attach to our mailbox post or the front fence by the mailbox.I wish that filling with water isn't something I have to worry about, but there are so many ways to use this little yellow cutie that I am not in the least bit sad.

The duck sinks every time
Will you put the string on the duck has a hole in it in the entire dock so it can fill up with water The empty out the water at two or three times a day after the river and it's past my 30 day return or definitely would have returned this do not buy it.

Great duck!
I have to confess that I have no boat, except a small kayak, and that is not why I got the duck. I am hoping to have him/ her? in our pool one day, but it needs resurfacing, so in the interrim, the duck will be living in the yard, with the dog, who is even happy to share hs louinge chair. It is a fine looking duck, and not like the other ducks we have.In fact, in the spot this duck is currently nesting there was a famiy of ducks just a couple of years ago. We get a lot of rain, a lot, so it might be prudent for me to get an anchor because our yard has turned into a lake in the past, and I would not want to lose this duck.I knowe that I am not using the duck appropriately, but plan to one day, and absolutely wil be enjoying it's cheery presence in my yard until then, and my dog will too.Really, it is very cheerful and, given that it is waterproof, make a fine garden sculpture.

Completely fails at its intended purpose
This is supposed to be a buoy…Buoys need to keep floating. Instead of molding a tie point into it like every other buoy they just decided to drill two holes through the tail allowing the entire thing to fill with water and sink. Well, if I am being perfectly honest, it doesn’t sink completely but it sinks enough that if it was a boat, you would be calling someone to come pick you and take you back to the dock. But even if it didn’t have two holes in it, it would still not be a good decorative buoy. It’s supposed to float on the water like a cute rubber duck, but it tops heavy and tips over with the slightest provocation. It really needs a ballast under it which I could add if it didn’t already struggle with sinking. The only reason I am giving this item two stars instead of one is because my son likes it as a toy.

This is one big duck. My 80 pound Boxer is afraid of it.
I have a sweet sailboat that I usually park in the water a few feet from the lake shore during the sailing season. I have had to (have one of my kids) dive off the boat to find my anchor line on several occasions. I saw this duck and thought 2 things: 1) that would look fine next to my Catalina 22, and 2) my granddaughter will sneak it home if she sees it. Okay, I first thought of the Bert & Ernie video "You got to put down the duckie if you want to play the saxophone," but that was far too esoteric to rate higher in the list. The Duck is currently marking the location of my computer hutch as the boat is currently on the dry and in storage. It looks great and so far, I have not lost sight of my computer hutch. Might have to get another one for the grandkid....

Disappointing
Good quality rubber duck but does exactly what you would expect - takes on water and flips upside down just like the toy version. I assumed it would be designed differently but it’s not. We ordered to use as a buoy marking our waterline in the lake. Disappointing.

Water can enter from the top
Used it as a fun buoy to mark an underwater rock, water enterer from the top (where the cord gets in) and sinks the duck. No huge wave, only small boat are on the lake. Extremely poor design for that specifically, would have return it but passed the delay.
