Sizzle and Secrets all tied up -- it's enough to make you weep!
I reiterate that I hate serialized novels!! And this particular series makes that feeling even more acute. I usually wait until all the parts are released so I can read, enjoy, and then review. Why I started this one, I will never know. But now I am stuck as surely as if I were mired in quicksand, and while that may make the author deliriously delighted, I can only say that this second episode in Sophia and Sebastian's journey toward wherever is as nerve-wracking as it is entertaining. Obviously these are two people who are seeking to find a connection, and that being the case, their affair burns brightly. But just as Sebastian lived in this hidden world that he calls "venture finance" so Sophia knows that there is a part of Sebastian's life and of the man himself that is not available to her, and as her connection to him grows, so grows that part of her -- call is professional curiosity, if you will -- that just can't leave well-enough alone. Just as Sebastian seems to want everything from her, Sophia's inner sense of fairness and justice demand that she receive the same honesty from Sebastian. It's a tale of spirals that include Sophia's professional life as a junior corporate attorney, a position that is becoming more and more untenable after years of backbreaking work. It is a tussle of emotions that don't seem to want to turn her loose, and it is a story that will twist your innards and wring you out until those last couple of sentences, and you will think: "How can these things happen?" I hope the author has some good stuff planned for those of us who are totally dismayed at this cliff-hanger ending. For those of us who really like the HEA, it doesn't look to good. Suffice it to say that this is a beautifully written, skillfully crafted piece of romance fiction that will please, upset, dismay, and entertain the reader from the very first word.

Very Sexy Story...
Great book #2 - great followup....if you like book #2s....as far as series go...a little short....I almost-ALMOST- was just waiting for it to be over (not in a bad way, you know what I mean, I know you do) but the end totally saved it. The back and forth between the couple was getting a little annoying. I don't like my alphas to always be second guessing their relationships with the women that are supposed to be THE ONE...THE GAME CHANGER...THE BEST SEX EVER...that one. So, that was a little annoying. The point of an Alpha (well my Alphas) is that they know what they want.....I mean I GUESS it's alright that his "job" was a big ol' secret...apparantly....it's still a secret to the reader as well.I just wish, because DAUMMNNN the cover is hot, the idea is hot - that it would have been written out into a little more detail...went a few more places...opened a few more doors, in other words, drawn us in even more...but I feel like the author just stuck to something and went with it and left everything else behind as possibilities, options, different things that could happen.....LENGTH. I know it's 3 books, but this story deserves more attention. I mean it was, at the risk of repeating myself, a great followup....I just wanted more :) I guess the author did her job...I'm sucked in!

LOVED IT
I just finished Lockout and I absolutely loved it. If you have been following the series then you know Locked is the first one and this is the 2nd one and WHAT A FOLLOW UP!!! Sophia and Sebastian are at an impasse at the end of the first book. Sophia finds a few things out and just cannot deal so she leaves him. One thing leads to another and turns out that is was a miscommunication. Understandable really. However there are still secrets that are hidden and the closer Sophia and Sebastian get, the closer that they are to spilling those secrets. Secrets that are not meant to be uncovered. What will happen? You will have to read and see....Maya does it again for me. This is such a good story, love the plot. Love the characters as well. She just has done such an amazing job to making this an original story even though there are similarities to FSOG and Crossfire series.Sebastian is still a mystery and honestly, I love that. We learn a little but there is still so much more. Sophia is a girl after my own heart. That's no lie. Her no crap attitude really set it up for me from the very beginning. It has been such a joy to read them. Again, the chemistry between them is hot and its intriguing. Makes me quite jealous! Its a beautiful relationship even though there are secrets. That is what makes it alluring to me.I so cannot wait to see what happens next. Im sitting on pins and needles!Story 5Smut 5++++Overal 5+++++Reviewed by Beggin from Mommy's a Book Whore

Lockout
Sophia and Sebastian's characters are becoming more developed as the story unfolds and their relationship gets stronger. There are still plenty ups and downs and so many unanswered questions. The "In-between" romantic story bits are also interesting.Where the first book was a little predictable, this one really does have me guessing!I am still enjoying this story and will be buying the final in the series.

Brilliant as usual
Lockout by Maya Cross4 stars!!This book picks up where Locked finished with Sophia having walked away after what she saw on Sebastian's phone...however this little blip is soon ironed out and Sophia and Sebastian continue with their relationship.Sebastian is still the enigma, who is Sebastian Lock??? What does he do??? There is something about the man of mystery and I still haven't managed to put my finger on it...but it has me intrigued, I can normally see where stories are going but this one has me stumped!!! I am not liking it one bit...I even emailed Maya Cross to tell her she is killing me...but she just replied I would have to wait lol...not good for someone as impatient as I am.We do start to see a different side to Sebastian in this book, he does open up a lot more with Sophia, mainly over his feelings as he doesn't open up about anything else...I am sure that this is a case of can't open up rather than won't open up. He is definitely tied into something that he feels would scare Sophia away and judging by the CLIFF HANGER ending....maybe he was right. They continue with their friends with benefits arrangement in the beginning with Sebastian still showing his dominant, kinky side but we see another side to Sebastian especially when they go to the Spanish restaurant. Just as Sophia feels they are making progress things happen and Sebastian is once again left feeling what he has always known."Everything you saw was real Sophia. I'm a lot of things, things that may not be easy to understand, but I am also the same man I was a few days ago. The man who danced with you and held you and felt so impossibly lucky to wake up next to you. The man who thinks he is falling in love with you"The sex between these two as ever is seriously smoking...and as usual is not only in the bedroom, there are a few wild and crazy scenes in this book..but you can't help but root for this couple, you want them to fall in love and have their HEA but I think that Maya Cross is going to put us through the wringer before we actually get it :-(.A little snippet from a heart breaking letter..."I really thought that maybe I could do this again, that things would be different this time. But now I see how impossible that is. I can never have a normal life. The risks are just too great"Why is it impossible????? I need to know....like YESTERDAY!!!At least I only have to wait till July....not long you say.....but after the ending...July cannot come soon enough....I need to KNOW.....the suspense is killing me!!Once again Maya Cross, I loved it....just type quicker pleaseeeeeee, pretty please!!![...]

OK, but not as good as first book *Contains Spoilers*
I liked this, although not as much as the first!I love the characters, although Sebastian is a bit of a sell out - total dominant in the first book, to sometime dominant in this one. This was an issue for me.Also, I know there's a third installment, but the ending was so random and rushed. The kidnapping plot has been done to death in this style of book. :(But, I look forward to the third book redeeming this series for me!
