Pretty and effective ...
Bought as a Christmas present for hubby who had requested a sturdy, good quality business umbrella with a wooden handle. So I researched and found this one to have the best reviews. Being in the UK, he's used it several times and is very pleased with the look, the feel and the good job it does. Fits in his briefcase when dry. The only "negative" he's mentioned having to fold it back up and put it back in his briefcase when it's wet. Is there nothing out there, like a see through PVC cover that fits over it to keep it from wetting everything else it comes into contact with in his briefcase? If he's coming home or going straight to a hotel with it, he just puts it up and in leaves it in the bath to dry out. So, only a problem when he's still in transit. This applies to all umrellas and not just this one though. I personally can't stand umbrellas and never use one. I've bought hundreds for others which they've lost, left behind, broken etc, but probably because they've been a lot cheaper. This one seems very sturdy and I hope stands the test of time. Quality is certainly much better than any I've bought and that's apparent when looking at how it's put together.

OK but ......
The brolly is mostly convenient but the vent slots to allow wind to escape from underneath the cover aren't very effective. The dome shape of the fabric is quite shallow and in use it doesn't take much of a veering breeze to turn the dome inside-out (although, being a shallow shape, turning downwind soon pops it back the corect way). If it's raining and I see the trees and bushes outside swaying in the wind in a noticable manner I know using the brolly won't be viable (I live down near the UK south coast, not up a mountain !).

Best Umbrella ever had
I bought this umbrella a couple of years ago because I walk 3 miles home each day and in this country that means getting rained on (a lot!) and recently was furious with myself for leaving it on the bus - hence the reorder .Some people may think its a bit pricey but personally over the years I've probably spent more on flimsy cheap ones and even medium priced ones that are not that good . This Brolly is such good quality - it doesn't blow inside out thanks to the air gaps , the spokes do not bend/break and make it out of shape, the push button mechanism to open the brolly is easy and works every time and it dries quickly - if you buy this brolly you will never buy another - unless you're silly like me and leave it on the bus !!!

Definitely worth the extra few quid.
I've been working in Scotland, so I need a serious brolly that wouldn't keel over at the slightest breeze.Having done the usual cheaper suspects on Amazon and found them all wanting I decided to break out of the "he who buys cheap buys twice" cycle and hit the quality end of the market (but not too hard - there are brollies on here that cost more than my Samsonite luggage!?).I have to say this far I'm impressed. I have managed to flip it once, but only in wind that no normal person would hold a brolly and it recovers well. The auto open & close is a welcome bonus when I've got luggage in tow, but it does make it harder to fold up.The main thing I like is how quickly it dries; I usually left my cheaper ones hanging / standing until lunchtime, but with a good shake this one is dry enough to go back into my laptop bag by 10.

Solid umbrella but no need for the branding on the canopy strap
I've been through many umbrella's over the years, with Fulton and upper-end M&S as my benchmark at £20-£30. Open/Close action is as good, if not better than the aforementioned, and it's no harder to 're-load' than these options either. The only cheaper feeling part is the plastic collar with the push button on it, but this is nitpicking at this stage, and would only be an issue if the chrome wears off. Otherwise this feels like a quality umbrella, appropriately priced, and I hope it lasts (and I don't lose it!). So far, I'd choose it again over similarly priced alternativesThe only thing I don't like is the white text branding on the canopy strap, which is not shown in the product images and cheapens the overall look

Great and so nearly perfect
Great umbrella and performs very well.Only thing to improve and would make it a 5 * is the re-opening mechanism.Push button to expand and open - brilliant. Push button and the umbrella closes but still stays full length. Pressing the button again won't re-open the canopy and you have to compress it back to storage shape to then reopen.Having the double canopy was a must, and as I play golf, I wanted a work one which had this function for windy days.

Brilliant little umbrella
Love the quality of my new umbrella. Love the wooden handle...easy to grip. Haven't had the chance to use it yet but when i do hopefully it won't get destroyed by a gust of wind like my previous umbrella. Arrived on the day that was given as the delivery day.

good quality, and looks very nice
Very well made, good quality, and looks very nice. The only reason why I didn't give this 5 stars is because the canopy is a little bit on the small side and it can struggle a bit when windy. However these are quite minor points, and generally it performs well. Overall very happy.
