Yowsers
Well it gets hot i got this with the intention of using it to heat my SLA printer chamber for more consistent temps since my house isnt insulated well. After hooking it up i realized this might be abit more then i bargained for with a fan i still have to modulate it down pretty far to avoid baking my printer. While 500w is comparable to a very small desk heater in this enclosed space its overkill. If you were using this for a large reptile enclosure with the proper controls i think this would be about perfect for its capabilities. Overall its worked consistently once i got it dialed in and helped considerably with a warping issue i was tracking

Easy to mount heater assembly
The media could not be loaded. I got this to heat a solar equipment cabinet with lithium batteries. The mounting looked quite simple in the listing. There is far too little space, 0.11 inch, between the center heater bar and the base. This heater assembly should be spaced up about an inch for best airflow. The wire used and the thermostat insulators are suitable for high temperature operation. The plastic ends are held on with a bolt and nut forming an interference fit. It is not a good idea to tighten these down and they do not have a lock washer. If any equipment is subject to vibration, thread locker should be used.I hadn't worked with ceramic heaters before and I had some interesting results. 500W at 110V should be a resistance of 24ohms. Cold, this resistance element measured 85 ohms. I resistance of the element after being in a freezer was 150 ohms. With 12V applied long term the resistance dropped to 74 ohms and very little temperature increase. At 20V the resistance was 58 ohms. At 24V resistance dropped to 27 ohms, near the calculated resistance of 24 ohms at 110V.It was my prior understanding that resistance should be constant till the turn off temperature was reached an then the resistance would greatly increase to lower wattage. I will be using 60V so that will not be an issue. In a very cold environment, these may not start heating. This is a very compact design and should be very useful in heating cabinets to protect from freezing. Just be sure to provide enough space on the base for adequate circulation.
