This was truly amazing. This young author was born to write. ImI loved the way you wove poetry with historical facts, and her family history. I could feel the love she had for the women in her life. The wisdom they bestowed upon her. We all have a Gentry in our family, a woman of strength and perseverance. Shout out to you for your accurate portrayal of Halls and Ripley Tenn, as well as Haywood Cty. Your future is bright, bec your ancestors lit the path for you. Congratulations!!!

This was such a powerful book! I read part in the paperback version but after learning the author reads the audible-- I immediately purchased the audio version as well. The author reading this with her own intonation and passion made this book come alive! This book is a masterpiece... a book of rich family history, heartbreak and power of a woman gleaning insight from her ancestors to propel her into her future with pride, wisdom and passion! I highly recommend this book.

One of the most impressive and powerful pieces of literature! I look forward to reading more books from Ms. Young.

Absolutely breathtaking

Heard the author interviewed on NPR, I can't believe she is only 19! This is so brilliant, and the author doe an incredible job performing the audio book. You will probably want to buy a paperback too so you can underline your favorite lines but wow, is this audio version not to be missed!

I loved everything about this book, the imagery makes this a powerful piece. Definitely recommend!
