Delicous, highest quality matcha at a reasonable price
Ceremonial grade is the pinacle in terms of quality and flavour of matcha. Green tea is loaded with beneficial ingrefients including antioxidants and matcha has them in bucket loads compardd to a standard cup of green tea. Many brands try to pass off lower quality matcha as being Ceremonial grade and this is definitely not one of them. This matcha is incredibly good quality. This arrives in a small tin with a foil pack inside containing the matcha powder. Open the pack and the powder inside is a rich healthy green and a scent of fresh grass creeps out. At this point i was smiling to myself because i knew this was going to be wonderful. Lower quality grades will not have the fresh smell to them and will look more pale. You could use this for making a latte or in cooking, but in truth it would be a waste because it is such good quality. I made a small cup of matcha to enjoy in full strength. Use half a teaspoon of matcha and put it through a tea filter or fine sieve. Add a dash of 70 degree c water and mix into a paste. Add a dash more water and then use a milk frother to mix it. The matcha takes on a dark, rich green and the smell of sweetness and grass. A thick creme layer forms on the top and stays there until the bottom.Taste. This matcha is rich and strong with a fresh taste and no bitterness at all. A fresh smell like cut grass with every sip. The texture is very very smooth with no grit or lumps. If the flavour is too intense adding milk will dilute it a bit. Adding honey will sweeten it if you are not used to the taste.Something i really like about how this is sold is that they offer the tin with matcha, and then also offer top up pouchs at a reasonable price. For real ceremonial grade matcha it's not uncommon to see prices well over £20 a tin so this is refreshing and good value. It may seem expensive for such a small pot of tea, but this is the equivelant of espresso in the tea world, and going to a coffee shop they will easily charge you £3 or more per cup.I will definitely be purchasing top up pouches at this price and quality! Highly recommended

Once opened keep it in the fridge in the tin container either poured in the tin or kept in the foil.
The media could not be loaded. I have tried matcha for donkeys years, and have to say this is the best one for its price in fact it puts all the expensive ones to shame, it tastes fresh clean like a forest and sweet especially mixed with almond unsweetened milk which is how I made it. Ceremonial grade matcha is typically sweeter than other type of matcha such as culinary grade which is made for cooking, matcha tea is made by grinding green tea leaves into a powder, but depending on where you get it can determine the taste and quality of matcha.Everyone knows the best matcha tea comes from Japan, the proof is I have had matcha from China, parts of Korea and many other places Japan has the best by far plus its GMO free unlike China that uses Pesticides and God knows what else. This product has a vibrant green colour it smells as fresh as a newly born forest those two are good indications its a good matcha tea, but going to taste it now it tastes good it is ceremonial grade as even though its bitter its still sweeter than others that I've tried that are culinary grade designed for cooking. How to tell if its a bad matcha? If it makes you want to spit it out like chemical bitter taste, or you feel sick like you want to vomit or your stomach hurts then its bad matcha. You can still use this matcha tea to cook with it, making matcha pan cakes, muffins, cookies you name it you can do anything with this stuff, it is high in chlorophyll and many amino acids contains virtually no sugar its basically a natural organic product I can tell just by tasting it as I'm a bit of a connoisseur witch matcha and this is the real thing.I like making my matcha with some almond milk unsweetened, I actually use hot water with a small level t-spoon of matcha in a tall mug and 60-70oC of clean hot water not hotter than that otherwise you melt away the nutrients, and then whisk a little hot water with that matcha in a mug until it gets really frothy then pour in the ice cold almond milk on top the milk changes colour to green with white swirls add some ice and its iced matcha almond latte. There are other ways to make this such as warming the almond milk (not too hot) no hotter than 70oC (I use a temperature thermometer in the milk) Instead to make a hot matcha almond latte for the winter times or your equivelent milk preference, and other drinks and different cooking/baking methods, please refer to youtube guides for that.Lastly fun fact: Green tea inhibits the absorption of iron in the body, so I suggest waiting 2 hours before or after before taking an iron supplement or the like so you can fully absorb iron before consuming this product. I personally recommend 1 small t-spoon per day for optimum health or half a t-spoon. It does contain caffeine so be aware not to take it close to bed time. This product can also help to indirectly lose body fat but isn't a miracle potion, you would still need to exercise with it. It does help the body in many ways but if you have iron deficiency you should ask your GP doctor if its okay to take this as your health maybe different to others.Final note- I wrote this review up when the price was £7-8 for 30g it is now 15 quid though still okay, I have had matcha of the same quality for 8-12 quid for 30g premium ceremonial grade matcha AAA so you might want to shop around if you want it cheaper. Took a star off for losing a little vlaue for money, but a top quality matcha never the less, and better than the 20+ quid priced ones.

Superb matcha
I don’t drink tea of any type, so I asked our grand-daughter (19) to sample this one. She drinks matcha often, both at home and when out, and she was impressed with it:“This is by far the best quality matcha I have ever tasted; it has a great, strong taste. There’s no clumping, which can be very annoying. I drink matcha with oat milk, and this brings out the sweetness in this matcha perfectly. The only downside is that the matcha comes in a foil pouch, which you need to cut open and pour into the tin. I realise that this keeps it fresh until opened, and saves loss in transit, but it is very difficult to pour it all in the tin without losing any, which you don’t want to happen at this price.A fairly high price, but worth it for the quality.”

Wonderful, fresh tasting. lovely colour.
Matcha tea of good quality has comparable levels of caffeine to coffee - if this is a drink you're having to REDUCE caffeine intake - I would not recommend Matcha. However, it appears the manner in which Matcha works with the body is quite different - and to my understanding, more nutritious! I would recommend doing your research thoroughly, through proper studies on the benefits of Matcha.I really enjoyed this tea, though it is quite expensive! The 30g tin is a bit of an eye-watering nearly £20 (this kind of tea IS expensive). The refill pouch though is nearly £15. That's £5 for the tin?Overall, it's a lovely tea but with one or two slight questions over costings for me. No doubting the quality. For most of us, this will be a treat - so why not engage with the ceremonial element and really indulge in it.Four Stars⭐⭐⭐⭐👍I hope you found this review helpful, thank you for reading 📖
