They are a good way to seal the thermometer cable entrance to the smoker

I had to change out the original plug a few years back but since they these have lasted. I plan on increasing the frequency of my smoke sessions so figured I would up the stock.

It took me 30 minutes to drill my weber kettle BBQ and install the port. Then it did not last more than a minute after I lit the bbq. It completly melt once the heat of the bbq reached 320 Fahrenheit though it was on the far side from the fire. Now I am left with a hole in my Bbq. I should have read the negative reviews before buying it. A piece of garbage

I bought these to use on my Weber Smokey Mountain. They will work, but I have not changed that out, yet.What I just did, is I drilled the vent holes in the lid of my Rival roaster out to 1-1/4” and installed grommets in them. I typically smoke my pork butts or shoulders to 165 F (the stall) and them bring them inside and finish them low and slow in the roaster. The grommets let me put probes in the meat and monitor oven temp.

Very good description. They withstand a lot of heat. No problems so far. They seem to seal up very well. With or without the wire/ wires running through them. I can get two probes through the one long slit on each one. Have these on all my grills and smokers.
