Love this author I'm impressed with taking a chance on Amazon pre-owned as the quality of this particular one was fantastic another one I ordered was beat up to hell and marked up it was ridiculous but this one impressive physical quality but even better and more important is this author is great

Très bon. Surtoût le style facil à lire et très agréable. De temps en temp les narations médicales sont un peu trop detaillés (le scan), mais celle du coma vigile est bien faite..

Tendre et délicat, c’est une merveille. On s’identifie rapidement à cette belle aventure improbable que l’on finit par faire sienne. Une superbe création et un talent incontestable.

Good story. I wish that it would continue. Makes me want to revisit San Francisco.

Someone recommended this as intermediate level reading but some of the vocabulary is a bit obscure.

Et si c'était vrai...juste après avoir lu la dernière ligne de ce livre c'est exactement ce que l'on se dit.Et on y réfléchi longtemps après. J'ai aimé ce livre parce qu'il m'a amené à me poser des questions sur la vie et la mort et l'âme. L'histoire est captivante parce qu'elle est unique aussi. C'est une aventure hors du commun et qui peut-être possible.L'auteur a eu beaucoup d'imagination pour penser une histoire pareille et en plus il a été capable d'amener le lecteur à une profonde réflexion. J'ai passé un très bon moment à lire ce livre.

Delightful read in French for an Intermediate-Level French student like myself. A nice charming "escape" kind of story which flows well.

Diese Geschichte kann ich uneingeschränkt empfehlen, außer an verbissene Realisten. Warum gehört dieses Buch zu meinen Lieblingsbüchern? 1) Mir sind die Personen, insbesondere Lauren und Arthur sehr ans Herz gewachsen. Sie haben echte Tiefe, sind vielschichtig und emotional, und handeln - trotz der leicht phantastischen Handlung - sehr nachvollziehbar und konsistent. 2) Die Geschichte ist wirklich spannend erzählt, und bleibt bis zum Schluss "offen". 3) Die emotionale Achterbahnfahrt von Lauren und Arthur berührt mich - vielleicht ist es die einfühlsame Erzählweise mit viel Innensicht der Figuren, oder die Zeit, die sich die Geschichte lässt, die Gefühle logisch zu entwickeln. Wenn mich etwas verwirrt hat, dann war das der Ort der Handlung. Ich habe das Buch auf Französisch gelesen, und war von dem setting in den USA immer wieder abgelenkt.

C’est bon

I bought this book as a first read in French and found it an excellent choice. The language is a good mix of colloquial and traditional and the story line kept me interested. Right to the end I was not sure how it would finish.

Et si c'était vrai ... Un excellent livre pour son premier roman qui nous tient en haleine depuis les premières pages, et qui laisse rêveur dans sa fin, et ses derniers mots. Un livre remarquable et captivant.
