Aluminum?I purchased these because they are relatively cheap and they do not have any attachments. Disassembly is easy, which means I can probably work around any poor construction issues. The design is simple. I wanted something which could form a basis of a custom regulator. I didn't trust the threads as they are filled with spray paint and debris, but retapping was easy. For its intended use as a replacement for a personal compressor, it probably works fine. As long as the threads can be jammed inside, it will probably remain "relatively" air tight as received. However, with some additional work, I think it will make a fine custom regulator for work station air manifolds.For the one unit which was assembled poorly, I think with cleanup it will be functional.

Just what I needed to fix the leaking regulator on my 30 year old Campbell hausfeld compressor. My regulator started to leak had a hard time finding a regulator with the Guage on the correct side. This one worked like charm and for less then the hardware store. I also like the lock ring so once you set the pressure you can lock the regulator setting so it does not vibrate loose.
