Excellent grater to make Puerto Rican pasteles.
We bought this grater after failing to find a vegetable grater to make Puerto Rican pasteles. As we ordered the grater, we had concerns that it wouldn’t be powerful enough to process vegetables like pumpkins, malanga (yaitia), which are quite firm. The grater was shipped and received in a few days. The grater was simple to use.We followed recomendations from a YouTuber that suggested cutting the vegetables in smaller pieces and letting them sit in a pot of water for a few minutes before grating these. The grater worked great. It grated the vegetables in little time and the consistency of the “masa” mixture was excelent. We have used the grater twice to process vegetables for more than 50 pasteles. The grater is easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble. We recommend this grater for home use.

Easy to use.
Yes! Finally a machine that can grind up root spanish vegetables. I can make masa for my pastelles with ease. I previously had a machine that my Dad had made for him. It was bulky and heavy. After 30 years and 5 years of it sitting in the basement, it finally stopped working. After a lot of searching, I found this machine. It's not as noisy as my Dad, and it does a great job. The clean up was far better. Not a lot of pieces, so the clean up is easy.

Great. Once.
Bought this last year for my mom to make masa. She loved it because it reduced time grating and she was done in 20 minutes. She cleaned up and put it away in the box. We just took it out, set it up and ran on e piece of root veg through it. It seized up and smoked. One use. One star.

Purposely manufacturered!
Purposely manufacturered! The good: 1. it does what it was manufactured todo. Mesh or puree vegetables or fruits to make a smooth, blended food or fruit drink. 2. The cost pays for itself, if you spend anytime in the kitchen this machine will save you time. 3. Cleaning is a snap, everything comes apart, total of 5 pieces all plastic accept for the 2 metal blades, that's it.For clarification: To mesh, means to combine or blend ingredients together, often implying a somewhat coarse texture where pieces are still noticeable, while "to puree" means to break down food into a completely smooth consistency.A puree is completely smooth and uniform, (Not this machine) while a meshed food might still have small particles depending on the mesh size, that's definitely this machine, it works well for my needs.Cons: IMHO None!My personal suggestion: Dice or break down hard or solid fruits or vegetables in cubes, such as. Potatoes, Carrots, Cassava or Coconuts for desserts. Walnuts or almonds are fine because they are much smaller to begin with.Hope this helps, I'm a handyman that enjoys spending time in the kitchen. I believe in making things simple for everyone else. 5 stars all the way! Can't go wrong....

Works great & easy to clean
It works great, grates up potatoes extremely fine effortlessly. It is loud, but honestly I expected it to be significantly louder so I'm very happy with the noise level. My favorite trait of this grinder is how easy it is to clean. I don't think I've used a food processor or blender without some gripe about cleaning, but honestly with this I have none. It disassembles neatly into mostly flat surfaces with no tricky spots. My only complaint is that the motor is on or off, so when you put another piece in the feeding shute it hits the spinning blades and sprays out the feeding hole. It is pretty easy to mostly overcome with being quick with the plug/cover. I will happily suggest it/buy it again though.

Great Pasteles for Holidays
This machine is a great personal grater. As long as you are patient and don't try to force feed. I was able to do 30 pounds of green bananas and root vegetables very easily. Was able to make more than 7 dozen Pasteles ( Not counting the ones we tried. He he he ....). This year no scuffed knuckles, just happy tummies. I'll see how it goes making Alcapurias another day.
