Great most of the time, but a bit glitchy
When this things works, it’s awesome. Easy to install in the car, fairly simple to link to the Bluetooth in the car (Ford Sync) and cell phone (iPhone), looks sleek and doesn’t interfere with view of the road, and 85-90% of the time it works exactly as described. Its real “CarPlay” - operates exactly as a built in system in a newer car would. The CarPlay symbol even comes up on the phone every time you start the car and it connects. I’ve had it about 3 months now and my only complaint is that it’s kinda glitchy. It’ll go 2-3 weeks without a single issue, and then it have a 3-4 day period where every single time I start the car there’s a problem, and then back to working perfectly for a while. Issues mainly revolve around successfully connecting to the car’s Bluetooth and randomly restarting itself. At the end of the day, it would cost about $3k to rip out my console and get an actual upgraded CarPlay stereo installed, so the fact that you can get this for less than $250 - even if there are some technical issues sometimes - is a hell of a deal.

It’s worth the money. Not perfect but better than I expected.
So this product is exactly what it advertises. There’s some great things about it. There’s some not so great things about it. It fits my needs great so I’m happy. If I have any long term reliability issues I will update this review. The good1. Does everything it advertises it can do. Yes the wireless CarPlay works. Works pretty well. I have a vpn that I use and it messes with the wireless, but turning that off fixed it. I’ll send a report to Apple because a similar thing happened in the past with wired CarPlay in my old car that they fixed. I don’t think many people have wireless CarPlay let alone wireless with a vpn. I doubt it something Apple has seen.2. Sound quality output is great. The aux jack has a great ground loop isolation which is rare. Most devices don’t including iPhones. This was a huge worry for me so I’m happy to see it works. It is a little quieter than my normal sound but my speakers have plenty of extra volume they can go up to so that isn’t an issue for me.3. Display. Crisp and high resolution. Can confirm it is 1024x600 resolution which makes the display much more clear than many OEM screens. It’s a good display. A little low on the brightness, but even in the Florida sun I could still see the map and use it. The touchscreen also works well and I am overall very happy with this aspect of the unit.6. Boot up speed. It turns on pretty quick. I’m happy. Turns off the second the car turns off. You have to have a car outlet that cuts power with the car ignition. It has no other way of detecting the car is turning on or off so keep that in mind. The bad1. The microphone on this thing is not great. My cars built in Bluetooth was even worse so It isn’t a dealbreaker for me but yeah. Functional is all I can say. People will understand you but they won’t enjoy the call.2. No hot swapping between wireless and wired CarPlay. There’s a setting you have to turn on or off manually to swap between modes. This thing is technically an android tablet with one of those wireless CarPlay dongles built into it. In wireless mode it does not allow wired CarPlay. So when my wife rides with me I have to switch off wireless CarPlay so she can plug in when she wants to hear her music. Not a deal breaker but worth noting.3. Bluetooth connectivity not compatible with wireless CarPlay. My car doesn’t support stereo Bluetooth so this doesn’t matter to me, but know that if you’re planning on using your car’s Bluetooth to maintain your steering wheel controls using this thing that won’t work. Because I don’t have stereo Bluetooth I can’t give a review of how it works but I know the radio warned me the Bluetooth is off when wireless CarPlay is active.Final note is how this thing is mounted. If you see in my picture I opted for the more permanent install. The mount itself is on the cheap side. Once you finish tightening everything it’s solid, however it’s not the best and you have to really shove it into the mount to get it to click in. Once in though it hold on pretty well. The base pad under the unit is a double sided glue affair. I am curious to see how badly it will get covered in dust in the future. I can say though that with my thermostat reading 100F in Florida the glue is holding so that’s good.I’m happy. As long as it keeps working the way it is I can definitely suggest this unit. I have only owned it a few days so I will update this review if in a few months it dies on me.

Far exceeds my expectations.
After trying a few different cheaper versions including the hard wire double sun style screens. I decided to try this after seeing some reviews on YouTube. My apple car play and my Android connects to it perfectly. I also love the fact that this unit has a BT transmitter that can connect to my cars Bluetooth. This allows me to retain all my cars oem functions like steering wheel controls etc etc. my only complaint is that I have to reconnect my cars Bluetooth EVERYTIME I restart my car. For some reason when I turn my car off and then start it again the Bluetooth is connected but I don’t get any audio. Other than this is a great unit with amazing touch screen that’s very responsive.

Once you figure it out, it’s good
I saw this item via a page referral on FB, as a way to get around a new unit for 2k. Arrived in a professionally packed box (on a holiday to boot). Putting it together was straight forward and easy. The challengers were setting up the unit when powered on. It’s extremely confusing. The manual doesn’t help at all. I spent hours on it, and was going to pack it up and return it. It works perfectly is, but, I have absolutely no idea what happened to make it work. I couldn’t repeat it if I tried. But, now that it works….I’m perfectly happy
