Flex Watt Heat Tape 3" Wide Tape (110V) (6 Watts per foot)

I bought this to keep my water softener and filter from freezing at our cottage. Not winter yet but the material works fine and shoud do a very good job. I will connect it to a electric heating thermostate set at 40 degrees. Nice high quality product.Feb 2014 update. We are now into a cold Michigan winter and the heat tape is working fantastic. I didn't use a thermostate on it because I didn't want any device in the link that could fail and let my softener freeze. I built a foam box around the tanks and wrapped the 5 foot heat tape (total 30 watts) around the tanks near the bottom. I use a recording thermometer and with extreme cold (0 and below) the box stays at a 50 F temp. My power meter shows just under 1 kw per day of power use. I like this product so much I am trying to find other things to use it for. Fantastic product.

Products works well just wish there wasn't paper on the backside of it can get too hot and can cause fire

I used one foot of this heat tape to construct a heater for my camera to eliminate dew in the morning while I'm doing a long term lapse dissolve shoot. I works great and is exactly what I needed.

First off, I'm pretty sure this product isn't even made by flex watt. I say this because it didn't work at all, and it had no labeling what so ever.When I started setting it up, one of the clips broke on the first clamp down. At that point I decided that I would just go ahead and have it soldered by an electrician. The max temperature after soldering, re-soldering, and then trying one last time to "get the connection right", was 85 degrees!I'm sure most of the heat tape from this company works (due to all the other great reviews) but the plastic I received was garage!Yes I'm familiar with heat tape, I know how it works, and it's not just a user error.

This tape works but I found it much cheaper.

Works like a charm I use a thermostat to keep the temperature of my Leopard Geckos and Dubia roaches at the proper setting and I have had zero problems. I highly recommend this to anyone considering Flex Watt.
