I got two of these, one for "clean" work and the other for taking measurements in the forge. both are still like new after lots of abuse

Literally the sturdiest, thickest, best quality steel rule I have ever owned! Every engineer should have one of these! Yes it is expensive but don’t expect to ever need to buy another one unless you lose it.

The loveliest little ruler - why am I in love with a ruler?
Why is this ruler so lovely? I don’t understand. It’s thick, crisp and perfect. Yeh it’s just a bloody ruler... but man do I like it.

Without question the best maker of Precision rules.
Superb high precision machined and etched rule, that starts from zero! One side Imperial inches only. One side metric only.Better than older Rabone Chesterman productions and similar finish to their Rustless chrome face- no glare.Don't waste your time with the vast amount of Chinese rubbish with premium labels of yore, Moore and Wright, Rabone Chesterman Stanley, Draper, etc, etc.The only good all rounder 'cheapo' worth having is Fisher.Mitutoyo- the best, a joy to behold.
