I continue to use this in the rare times it's necessary primarily because it has never killed off beneficial gut flora as more mainstream treatments are wont to do. Also, because I can address the problem strictly on my own since Amazon Prime delivered it the following afternoon. Can't ask for more than that!

Take 1-3 a day until bottle gone. Feel more secure about health. take after being in large crowds or cities.

After reading about the health benefits of beta glucans, I upped my intake of oatmeal (which contains a good amount of bioavailable beta glucans), and ordered this product. It's been about a week, but two curious things have happened. My wife caught some kind of bug from one of our grandkids, and was sick as a dog for five days. Normally, I would immediately get sick as well -- but in this case, I have been fine. The second odd thing was that some slow-healing minor wounds on my arm suddenly seemed to improve. I guess this could all just be coincidence, but I also notice an uptick in my energy level. I am less tired after workouts, getting by on less sleep. So I am cautiously optimistic about this product actually being of value. There is a great deal of unethical marketing of various beta glucan products online -- plenty of conflicting claims, "scientific studies" that nakedly plug products, and sky high pricing which in my opinion is basically taking advantage of the desperation people feel when they get seriously sick. So shop carefully. Jarrow is a brand I have long trusted, and it seems reasonably priced for the dosage. I will update this review periodically as I continue using the product.UPDATE: I've now been using this, as well as other beta glucan products, for 3 months. In that time, despite frequent exposure to sniffling grandkids and other family members, I have not been sick a single day. My wife, who doesn't take beta glucan has had at least two long-term colds in that time. So I am starting to believe this stuff really does stimulate the immune system. Bear in mind, I also eat a lot of oatmeal, oat bran, barley (great in soups), and Shitaake mushrooms (all good sources of beta glucan). Oddly enough, I have not seen any reduction in cholesterol from the use of this product -- but that wasn't the primary reason I was consuming beta glucan. If you are shopping for a brand, you will see a few very high-priced brands that make extravagant "scientific" claims for their proprietary methods of production. I have researched these brands pretty thoroughly and as far as I can determine, the "studies" that support them are bogus, bought and paid for by the manufacturers. You simply want to make sure that you are getting as much of the long-branched B1,3/B1,6 glucans (usually listed as a percentage on the label) as possible for your money. In my opinion, Jarrow offers good value, as do a number of other relatively unknown brands you will find online. If I come down with a cold tomorrow, I'll be back with an update.

This thing works better than antivirals and keeps your immune system in check. I can’t recommend it enough. Look up AJ lannighan’s seminar on YouTube and how he talks about the immune system, aging and beta d-glucans. He sells his own amazing products but jarrow formulas was recommended in a nutritional healing book that has helped me tremendously so I know it’s a good product. I’ve tried NOW brand and other brands but Jarrow, in my opinion, works better than all of them except Aj’s but he’s is hard to find.

My entire family is on this now after reading up on the wonders of Beta Glucan. Personally, I have found that it has almost eliminated my sugar cravings. I did not expect that at all and I can't figure out why that would be. I am just taking it to improve my immune system and not catch any viruses. After almost 3months I feel this has helped the whole family with greater immunity. No one has been sick which by now someone would have dragged home a cold or flu and it would have been passed around. I even have been giving it to my older dog for skin allergies, but have not seen too much of a difference with her unfortunately.I have looked around at the other brands. Not sure if paying more or less will do anything more. I guess if I was going through cancer treatment or had some really bad immune problems I would pay the extra $$ and try the more expensive brand, but right now I feel the Jarrow brand is doing a good job and the price is at a point that seems reasonable. I will continue using this for our family.
