Keeps my clumsy girlfriend safe
Bought this guy to open packages because my girlfriend is known to accidentally cut herself with knives and other sharp objects. This box opener works great and hasn’t dulled yet

Safely cuts through tough materials
So easy to use! I have used it to unbox all of my Christmas gifts and I am obsessed. It easily slices through cardboard, packing tape, duct tape, plastic ties, etc. Much safer than the pocket knife I was previously using for the same purpose, which I cut myself with multiple times.

Very Usefull!
I love how sharp this is but how safe it is because the blade goes back in automatically!

Broke after two months!
Very disappointed, was opening a box and the blade retracted in and will no longer respond to the button. Contacted amazon and was told nothing could be done to remediate the situation. The idea is great but unfortunately the quality is not there.

Works great!!
I have been meaning to get a letter opener or something else to use every day besides one of my brand new kitchen knives, so when I saw this, I figured it would definitely be perfect for opening up boxes each day.Now I've worked in the backs of stores before in the stocking and unloading department and used box cutters every day. This one, however, is different than the ones I have used in the past, and in my opinion - it's much better!!The handle is really comfortable to hold onto, which is always good. Plus, it's kind of slip proof, so if you get sweaty hands, you can still use this with no problems. The blade is white because it's ceramic, and in case you didn't know, that means that this blade won't get dull and need to be sharpened!! That right there is worth every penny in my book! The best part of this, for me at least, is that on the bottom of the handle, you will find a little green button. And if you look, you'll notice that is a safety lock!! Which means that when not being used, just push this button to lock it, and if there should be a small child that gets ahold of it, they won't be able to get the blade out at all, and they will not end up getting hurt. I am so very happy that there's a safety lock on here!!I got this delivered the day before yesterday and I've used it several times. I absolutely love this cutter!! I definitely recommend this for anyone who is needing one of these, but have been hesitant to get one due to having kids around. Especially for them. I feel so much safer with accidentally leaving this out knowing that it's not going to end up in disaster. I know that you will be happy with this too. And I've heard some people say that ceramic blades aren't as sharp, but I really can't tell a difference. So I guess you can try it for yourself and see what you think

Retracts on its own
It retracts on its own which is annoying when in use

Very safety conscience box cutter but does fail at retracting sometimes.
The media could not be loaded. The Slice box cutter is approximately 6.75 in. long and weighs 4.9 oz. The handle is all metal with a grainy texture feel to it (Photo 1) and a green plastic handle on the bottom that when compress, actives the blade (Photo 2). I like this design because it is more efficient than having to slide the blade up and down and prevents you from accidentally leaving the blade exposed. It was just last week I was cutting up boxes to recycle and accidentally left my other box cutter with the blade exposed on the kitchen counter. Not good when you have a toddler and cats running around in the kitchen. However, compressing the lever to expose the blade does have a drawback. If you put it in your pocket or bag, it could accidently compress and activate the blade. Slice must have recognized this, so there is a safety lock located at the bottom of the box cutter (Photo 3). The blade itself is a white ceramic material with a rounded tip. Then to change the blade, it just requires compressing the green level and holding the green button on the side (Photo 4). Overall, it is a great box cutter and when in use, it provides 1 in. of the blade to be exposed for cutting (Video).Cons –While I love the design concept, the handle does sometimes get stuck after using it. It doesn’t happen often, maybe 10% of the time, but still annoying when it does. Also, due to the design, it does add to the width of the box cutter since you have that lever sticking out. The metal handle at its grip is 1.5 in. in width, excluding the green lever, and 2.25 in. including it.

I like the safety features very much
I like this box cutter better than my other one which has a metal blade. This one has a different kind of blade. I didn't read the instructions and at first I thought that was a temporary blade and that I would have to replace it, but once I read the packaging I saw that plastic blade is supposed to be there.I accidentally touched the tip of the blade (when I thought it was a temporary blade) and was grateful that I didn't get cut. If I had touched my metal blade box cutter like that I surely would have been cut. Even though this one didn't cut me when I touched it, I was surprised to see that it cuts open boxes without any problems. Just as good as my metal blade box cutter. The other thing I like about it is that you have to squeeze the handle to use it. If you let go, the blade goes back inside. My other box cutter doesn't have any feature like this and I'm always concerned that I might not close it all the way before I set it down (and I worry that it might fall and injure someone or one of our pets). I really like that I don't have to worry about that with this one. If I drop it, the blade is going to automatically go back inside so no one gets hurt.Overall, I like this very much - much better than my old metal blade box cutter. I plan to retire my old box cutter and use this from now on.Instructions for getting replacement blades were included in the packaging too.
