Bosch 921 Long Life Upgrade Minature Bulb, Pack of 2

I was unaware that 921 bulbs came in two configurations...and I still don't know how to tell which one you should order or which brand has which configuration. If you hold the Bosch bulb with the base down and the glass fin that is the base running left to right, these bulbs had the wires bent to be on the left side and away from you, and the right side wire on the side toward you. But my Ram truck, for a back-up socket that asks for a 921 only has connectors on the left side close to you, and on the right side away from you...so these did I not work. However, on the same 2011 Ram, the high brake light calls for a 921 and has 4 contact points, left close and far, and right close and far, so these worked for that. Very odd. I found that I had a sylvania 921 left from another car's repair, and that had the right wire placement on the bulb to fit the back-up socket. Very odd that two 921 bulbs has different contact placements.

You learn something new everyday. Not their fault I bought wrong one I should've looked in the book or removed a old one. Wouldn't have mattered anyways the 3rd brake assemble has connecter problems. I will use these on my car just different place.

I had bought this item because I thought it would work in my 3rd stop light but they were actually for the tail lights. I kept them because I will need them in the future anyway. I couldn't want for another delivery, so I went to the local automotive parts store and bought the one I needed.

My MBZ 207 D(Van) has never been happier, 20yr Old + Cyclops Dbl Back Door Mount Brake Lites had one burnt out as a former MBZ Shop Owner, I know always replace in Pairs and finally my has Bosch Quality Lites instead of GE. As a Bosch Autoparts Specialist have always counted on Bosch Longevity and I'm sure there will be many trouble free years of use...

I had bought these for the third brake light bulb for a 2014 silverado but they didn't work at first, i flipped them and still didn't work, then i noticed that the contact points were on the opposite side of the contact points in the socket. So i flipped the contact point on the bulb to the opposite side and it works fine now

The 921 fits the Toyota socket for backup 921 bulbs without an issue. Most aftermarket brand glass wedge based bulbs are either too tight or loose. The Bosch brand bulbs fit as good as the OEM and will not flicker or even fall out like other brands in my experience. While my preference is to use the OEM Toyota Koito bulbs, they are super difficult to find in the USA. The Bosch Brand is the next best fit and quality I have found for Toyota exterior tail lights.

After our eye-level brake light went out on our 2014 RAM 1500, I decided in my infinite wisdom to "upgrade" the bulb to a LED... bought a pack of 2 from the local auto store... NOPE. LED's do not work as replacements for that bulb in our truck. Save yourself the grief and just buy normal incandescent bulbs like these. Bought them on Amazon vs the local store due to Covid distancing.

Two bulbs in the package. One was cracked/broken at the attachment point of the bulb, the other was fine. The cracked one was held together enough to install and works, for now. Not sure if it was broken before it shipped or after, but it arrived that way. At $2.50 a bulb and a 5 minute install, I’ll take it. Would have been 5 stars, except for the crack in the one bulb.
